Robert Jordan passed away yesterday, September 16, after losing his long battle with a rare blood sickness. For those of you who know and love his writings, you will also know how crushing this is to his fans, and how devastating it is to his family.
He was a tremendous inspiration to me, and will continue to be so until the Wheel turns again. I have no other words to give.

/me gives a deep bow to Mr. James Oliver Rigney, Jr. (aka Robert Jordan) and all of his writings.
-
/me lowers his head in sadness. The wheel of time, a story told in about 30 books, was the best fantasy story he ever read.
*Edit* It was actually him, who inspired me to start writing my own book(s). Without him, I wouldn't be so fascinated of writing, nor reading.
/me salutes.

/me bursts out crying.
Noes :( He is the creator of one of the most original fantasy worlds. I will miss him for sure. He found a way to not rip off Tolkien and make his own great story :)

Has always await each of his Wheel of time books eagerly.
Was just reading his blog last week, thought his treatment was going ok.
Such is the unpredictability of life. Goodbye Jordan.

That's really sad to hear. Thank you for telling us UTM, I mylsef don't listen to the news often.

Just imagine, if some of y'all write books and become famous, when you get old and diseased and die, unknown strangers will be mourning you over the internet... Let's hope they aren't 1337ers.

UtM will write books and become famous. I'd already mourn his death on the internet :) Especially if it happens before he finishes his parody (porody).

I love the Wheel of Time. It was one of the few serieses that was written regardless of how long the books became, resulting in so much depth and description. Thank you, Robert Jordan.
