Title: exception_address_violation at 0040FFE1 : application crashes at launch

Application crashes during world launch.

Steps taken:

I have uninstalled and re-installed PS. I continue to get the same error.

Application worked fine until now. I didn't have a problem until rebooting for a Firefox update. Are the two events related?

by at "launch" you mean once you double clicked on the psclient ? or once you try to log in? clarify this for me please  ???  :)

I have the same problem. It crashes at launch, very shortly after creating a large black window (I have it set on fullscreen). I saved a dump, but I can't paste it to the forum because of the characters it contains.

Read this topic and send the dump file to that email. AryHann will take a look at it :)

Note : you can even copy the file log error to that link and send the link too :) but dont forget that the dump file is the main thing to send  ;D

Hello :)

if you all three can make another character and see if you can log in. if you can, then contact a Game Master (do /who game to see who's gm is online => see at system tab) and ask him to move your character somewhere else. (Death Realm by default)

im quite sure your problem comes from your localization in the world.
Edit: im now totally sure of that fact  ;D

I found a solution to the problem i'm not sure what it is exactally but this is what you do:

go into your planeshift folder (where ever it's installed too)
Delete the version.dat file
Run your updater

This fixed the problem for me hope it helps everyone else!
