after installing the game through the repository service and updateing it, i cant connected because the server is not in the server list, instead there is only "localhost" which i cannot connect to either, i have opened port 7777 in my router already.
anyone know how to fix?

hi, thats easy to fix.
Go to your planeshift folder and open the file "data/servers.xml" in any editor. Replace the existing server line with this one: <server name="Fragnetics" ip="laanx.fragnetics.com" port="7777" />
Thats all :)

i dont have permissions to access the acual file because its in my root folder.
anyone know how to access the root folder in open suse? i'm new to it.
-
first you should not have built ps as root. look in k-menu under system [i think file manger super user].
-
ok now the server list is fixed thank you, now i just have more problems.
i have version 0.3.0.19
at the top of the screen it says "could not open driver database file config/gldrivers.xml
when i try to update it tells me that i am up to date, if i want to do a full update i have to delete version.dat, which i cant find.
if this is already in another thread, i'm sorry, i'm looking for it now

First try to rebuild planeshift NOT as root and see if that helps.

@Caarrie: I don't think he build PS from source because he mentioned that he used some kind of (unofficial) repository.
I've pasted my glxdrivers.xml here (http://paste.frubar.net/6022).
Create a 'glxdrivers.xml' in data/config and try to copy the stuff from the paste into it. Maybe it helps :)
If you run into further problems i'd suggest you to use the official binary installer available here (http://http//www.planeshift.it/download.html).

but the official binary does not have localhost in servers.xml that only happens in a build.
