Title: Is it possible to play at Planeshift 3.0.19 with an imac 700Mhz ?
Post by: Merlin on September 26, 2007, 11:03:25 am
I think it is impossible to play at PlaneShift 3,0,19 with an imac G4 700Mhz .
Why ?
1°) - Frequency is too low.  I think the minimal frequency is 1,5Ghz with a G4
2°) - With an Intel double core we have no problems.
3°) - Panther or Tiger?
With Panther i could play on PS 3,0,18 but not on PS 3,0,19.
With Tiger i can play on PS 3,0,19 bug i have many, many, many bugs.
II think that the next Planeshift , 3,0,20  shall be for Tiger and Leopard but not under.

I think the specs are okay, but it will run slow. You definitely need Tiger (10.4.x) at this point, though.

It is less an issue of the CPU (it runs well on an AMD Duron 800 MHz), more a question of a good graphic card. I know Macs use ATI in general - it should have at least a Radeon 92xx chipset, better 96xx.

I used a 1280x960 window on my old Duron 800 with a GeForce2 GTS (32 MB).
