Everytime that I try to update it downloads a couple files then goes and says:
Problem when updating: Error while downloading: transfer closed with X (variable) remaining to read.
Warning: Your installation may be in an inconsistent state now.
Please try again and if that fails report the problem.
After I try it again and again...same thing happens and it doesnt even save the files that i already downloaded so i have to start from the begingin every time.

everytime I try to update a thing pops up saying
This application has failed to start because MSVCP70.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I uninstalled Planeshift and reinstalled it and it still didnt work.
what can i do

Zanatose, go here and download the file:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp70
Drop it into your PlaneShift Directory, then run the updater and you\'ll be good.

Ok, I\'m having the same problem as lilmonkeyguy:
\"Beginning download of 10863443 bytes.
Downloading http://www.planeshift.it/updater/files/data/art/things/weapons.zip (
1420049 bytes) (total 0.0%)
0%........25%........50%...done.
Problem when updating: Error while downloading: transfer closed with 525307 byte
s remaining to read
***Warning: Your Installation may be in an inconsistent state now
***Please try again and if that fails report the problem.\"
I\'ve tried several times on several days with no successful attempts.
And this is the only post I could find that listed this as a problem. Could someone please tell me what I need to do to fix this? Do I need to reinstall PS clean and update again (and lose my last patch update)?

Download the file that is giving problems manually and place it in your dir.
The updater will see it\'s there and will skip the file.

Thanks Keldorn, that worked :)
