I can talk, barter, train, receive quests etc, but cannot attack anything (xcept duels).
Does the npcserver use a different port than the game server?
And, if so, which port should I open?
Otherwise, an anonymous incoming on port X looks to me like any other port scan.
Thanks all,
laters,

The npcclient is local connection to laanx. and if it goes down there is nothing you can do to fix it till a dev manages to take time to do so themselves

Might be a silly question but doesn't the NPC server run all the NPC's? And if so when the attackable NPCs in the game become impervious due to client outage, why are the merchant NPCs still up and functional? I wouldn't understand the need for seperate NPC servers for attackable and merchant NPCs,but then I'm not a programmer. If they are seperate could this possibly have anything to do with the server lag spikes from seperate clients being processessed by Laanx? :-\
I know,50 questions,but perhaps all related? Any response is appreciated,ty. :)

the npcclient controls the behavior of the npc's. like making them attackable and controling the attacks, controlling movement of the npc's and such things. the merchant system on the other hand is not part of npcclient, same goes for the quest system.
