Title: what is a good balenced weapon for a beginner?

I need some ideas for a new weapon.

Sword is probably the most versatile, dagger is generally the fastest, axes are not bad and anything else varies from hard to get to not implemented yet.

Swords, axes daggers... most people pick sword so if you're one of those just use short swords till you find magical ones as they're faster in a fight.
