Hi - I am new to this game and have read all the gamplay I can find. I have found the sewers and killed a couple of rats before logging off yesterday. Today I have logged on and tried to resume hunting but when I find a rat or a gobble or a fanatic and attack - every attack misses or is blocked or hits the helm etc - no damage, no progress just increasing fatigue.
I checked my weapon - dagger - no problem. I logged of and on again - no change and I left the area and came back - no change.
Czn anyone shed any light on it for me.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi, as a fresh character you may not be able to kill gobbles and fanatics yet, depending on your weapon skill and your stats.
Could you kill them before? You only mention that you have killed rats before.
Also the quality of your weapon is important, the quality drops whenever you fight something, please check that (by right clicking on the item in your inventory).
If you happen to have logged in right after a server crash, chances are that you became a victim of this bug: http://www.hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=486
Good luck with your huntings and welcome to PlaneShift,
Cebot

Also check out FS#486 (http://www.hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=486), I had this problem for a while myself when testing the tutorial.
edit: :-[ I should really have read the previous post more thoroughly... post count +1 :P

Thanks for your replies. I was able to kill rats and hit fanatics and gobbles. My weapon is a dagger - quality 41/50.
I now cannot wound anything although I hit them on the helm and the legs etc. I am also not getting wounded either.
I think it must be the bug you mention. Any ideas how to get round it?
Thanks again

Once the mob is dead (you can actually hit them with magic if you got the proper glyphs) they will respawn with their normal stats. Not all NPCs are affected by this bug so if you can't kill them, you can move on to the next and try again. There are plenty of NPCs in the sewers to go after.

Thanks for your reply Dajoji but my problem exists for all NPCs in the sewers. I cant seem to get round it.
