Title: as this is the "off topic board" ...
Post by: Tolol on November 12, 2007, 11:25:09 am
... I have to make my voice heard and throw all my anger and pain in here !

Well, some of you maybe remember me ... I was a player in PS for a while and wrote some (better or worse) on the forums. *kidding*

But for that moron organization ... the german T-Com ... a bunch of retards and idiots and ... "try to's" ... "hopefully works then's"

Uuuah ... I am fed up with them, you wouldn't believe it.

Thursday (Oct 18th) - while playing PS - my Internet Connection broke down and didn't came back - a while later my telephone didn't work anymore ...

... and since Friday (Oct 19th) they're trying to fix it !!!!!

I called their hotline -   which was mistake # 1 (guess what, they have people on their hotline which are that bad at german language, that I wouldn't gave them a job as a sausage-seller ... and morons ... this woman did not understand what I wanted and made it even worse ... she put an order for a new telephone--connect at my address into her computer system)
- several hotline calls - hours in the waiting circle - I really searched someone to bite theyr head off

I went to their shop - Oh my ... mistake # 2  ( a bunch of cell-phone addicted telephone-sellers, but not a single expert for connections)
The one who was able to talk more then one complete sentence told me :  "about technical problem" (I answered ... "you want a quest, do you ?")

Well I am writing this at work ... and ... excuse me ... but I had to shout this out to the world !

And ... aah .... well, thanks for listening ... I will be back in game when they fixed it ... I hope it will be this year ... if not .... if you hear or read about a burning "T-Punkt" (so they call their shops) ... then guess who did it ... and be sure I will leave some Ulber-Claws there to proof that it was me.

Okay ... so it is 23 days without telephone and internet at home now ... and

DON'T ASK HOW I FEEL !

LOL When I read that "about" thing the first thing that came to mind was quests...nice insertion there. Funny rants make my day better :P

Ouch the T-Com.. what you describe there, Tolol, is perfectly what almost everyone can tell about that unorganized and dilettante bunch of hedgers.
Really sorry to hear so, wont help you much, but I am with you=P

Last time they needed half a year until they understood that I ordered (correctly) an adsl line.  ;D

After paying the wrong, the double, and these in combination I had the second half year more or less for free

Once upon a time ... when I was a pupil in school, our arts teacher asked us to make a commercial object (packing, box, poster). I decided to create one for the "MAFIA" and thought about a font face matching to this organisation. Sitting in a tram, I imagined "antiqua" letters with extremely different stem widths and exaggerated "serifes" (similar to "Bodoni", or "Stencil" without gaps). And suddenly I saw a magenta "T" high on a building with just these attributes. :D

Imagine: The German Telecom managed to send me a date proposal to connect my phone, which was set for one day before the announcement letter was written...

"Buy today and get it already yesterday."

Hmm, that's actually a good slogan. :D

well, I see there is more interest in this story than I expected.

So here you get some more details:

I moved from ***street 20b   to the same street number 53 in July.
And these days (the week befor last week) ... I received a letter from them sent to ***street 20b (old adress from June) which told me that my old line (at 20b) was cut on Oct 16th.

Not to mention that I already had phoned from #53 for nearly 3 month WITH my old phone-number .... and anything was fine

until ...

one of these retarded morons woke up and saw ... "uh oh ... this man has moved ... we should cut his line ... it is 3 months since then ..."

Well ... I asked in the T-Punkt what the idiot there would say about that ... He said ... "Uhm ... you moved ?" I said "Well I did ... but that was in July and the phone in my new flat already worked and now it doesn't" .... he said "Uhm ... so you moved?" I said "Moron, stop that 'Uhm'ing' and make my phone run ..." He said "must be about technical problems" I said "Here is your quest:  Make my phone and Internet run again, as it does a week ago ... stop'Uhm'ing' ... and fight some Ulbers after that ... and remember DO NOT LEAVE DEATH REALM, it's a good place for you ..."

I actually didn't say 'exactly' that but it sure is what I was thinking ...

This company sucks that much ... If I would write here the words I am actually thinking, I would be banned from the forums ... banned from the internet ... banned from the planets surface ...for all times !!

(but it feels good to write this down ... makes me calm down a bit ...

Hm... maybe you didnt ask properly?
Here some suggestions:

about moving
about phone
give me phone
about cancelling contract

Although its possible you would have to vary order. As you know, those NPCs arent the most clever ones;)

Keep your head up there! \o/

Yay, Velh ... as this is not the first time "dealing" with those ... my head still IS up and I found time to play some of my favourite "offline-games" the last days ... and this "phone-thing" is not THAT bad ... no bothering ... no advertising phone calls ... and those who want me to drink a beer with them ... take their beer and knock on my door ... YAY ... follow the white rabbit ...

But finally you will enjoy your master crafted phone line after all that running  :P

Post by: Tolol on November 12, 2007, 03:27:47 pm
Yay ... that will be IT ... a master-crafted phone-line

--

but to be honest ... by reading Velh's last post, something came to my mind ...

If you want to enter the Area in the T-Punkt where the most intelligent "NPC's" are located ... you have to solve several quests before.
/me feels reminded to something he already complained about

Well ... I will go there today and ask for quests ... (maybe there's somebody called "Raithen" ...)
/me packs his bag ... with his fire-daggers and some steel-stock in it

make my day ... Telecomic-Moron ...

edit:
err ... maybe I am the NPC then ?  This moron asked ME "about technical problem" ... so I should have sent him for the quest ?
But what would be my reward then ?
Uhm ... have to go home now ... I will miss my working internet here at work ... see you all tomorrow morning again ...if my boss hadn't killed me already ...

Meh, the Telekom has less sufficient knowledge about phones than this guy.

So I'd say, your quest is bugged :P

...Wow. And I thought Verizon was innept. I'd give you a trophy, but an award for "Crappiest Telecom Service" is a bit like baking sugar-cookies for a diabetic. Special.

And I wouldn't go looking for that Raithen counterpart if I were you... I think he's probably the most frustrating NPC I've encountered (wanted to dangle him out that window by his heels on more than one occasion). I can only imagine how vexxing a real person would grate upon you.

"Fix my telephone!"
"No, no, no. We will not manage to understand each other this way."

It is still NOT working ...

I'm not far away from loosing my temper ...

Edit:

Update:

since Friday (Nov. 30th) my phone-line works again.   (This was 44 days)

my Internet-Connection is still down.  (47th day today)

every country has their buggers of a telecommunications company... I've had my fight with one, over a cellphone bill.

Sorry for getting this "old one" back.

And also sorry for what is following now.

As you can read in this topic I had a lot of fun with my phone company.
Since the 30th of November I'm finally able to use my Telephone again.
They told me, my Internet-Connection would latest work this evening ....

Well, ... err ... from October 18th until today, my only chance to use the Internet was here at work and I had not really much time to read everything that was written on the Forums ... so ... err ...

Could anyone help me out and tell me those really essential things that have changed since then so I don't have to spend the whole night with reading the forums ?

I saw something about ... err ... introducing and things

Please don't push me for this question, but if it really works tonight ... then I want to play and not read 55 days of new forum entries.

Please ... anyone be so kind and tell me even the most important things.

Thank you in advance ...

Tolol   (hopefully soon(tm) back in Game)

edit:
@Earl
Made the date of my Internet-Breakdown better readable    ;-)

Since the 30th of November 2007?.... nothing much... the introductory thing hasn't been implemented yet, some new features MAY have been implemented, but I doubt it, as it hasn't been that long since the 30th.... Just jump on in and check things out for yourself, there shouldn't be any major changes.

Welcome back, by the way.

From October, erm, the only thing I noticed was a big board discussing how to best aid newbies. Sorry to hear about that. Why are companies so bad? I remember reading about an old lady that attacked a phone company office with a hammer after half a year of bad service.

I have yet to whine. What you apparently think is whining, is actually stating of an (usually unpopular) opinion about the behavior of the people on this forum. You're welcome to consider it whining, I honestly don't care what you think. Fact of the matter is, the only reason I don't come across as harsh rather than mildly annoying is because people can't seem to take it anymore. On the other hand, if you care to pm me a few quotes of me whining, we can have it out. At the very least, I'm not overcome with the need to follow another individual around the boards posting uneducated and detrimental comments about everything they say.

then why are you replying to what i say if you're 'not overcome with the need to follow another individual around the boards posting uneducated and detrimental comments about everything they say' ?  Oh wait...so you mean you're replying by random chance?

Umm... no, I'm defending myself from your name-calling. And before you get started, no I don't really care what you personally think about me. However, there's a slight difference between that and letting myself be insulted by someone and not standing up for myself.

However, as much as I enjoy arguing, I will not discuss it any further outside of pm. I would not be averse to having these posts deleted, even though I don't see the point, since this thread isn't terribly useful anyway.

.... erm ... sorry but I didn't get that one ...

What's the problem Phinehas ?

Do you mean me with that whining thing ?

Or are you two just kidnapping this thread for a personal thing ?

And for the usefulness of this thread:

Don't read it if you're not interested in off-topic-things !

btw. they couldn't manage to make it work yesterday ... so this is day 56 today.

Phinehas:

People need a valve if steam rises. And they prefer to open it in a pleasant environment. Allow them a small corner away from the strongholds of philosophy. Don't heat the kettle even more.

I could quote neko, but you will know about "saying positive things or nothing", and I feel that this might not your favourite topic.

You're right. I'm a great believer in saying nothing.

Perhaps I am simply nearsighted. I profess that I do have difficulties with people. The need to vent randomly is not something that I suffer from, so it's difficult for me to understand. I've spent most of my life in Eastern Europe dealing with similar or worse service to what was mentioned in this thread, yet you don't see me venting on here...

I guess all in all it's the lack of perspective that bothers me.

Or you simply live the philosophy of positive thinking to a level german people (especially eastern german) don't reach anymore (I can say that, as I am german too). The GDR was "eastern europe" not too long ago. It is hard to stand feeling tricked and utilized once again after a revolution. Maybe we are now out of energy, facing the futility of "fighting windmills".

Yay ...

this all sounds very philosophical to me and I'm not sure if I intended this by telling my (I think) very extreme story.

Quote

Yes, this meets the point ... I am very frustrated about the "service" I received and the only Internet-Connection I can reach is the one at work (like now). There's noone at home to talk to and I only meet friends about once in a month ... okay ... I could change this, but I felt a bit like talking to friends when I wrote it here ....
Well ... I thought ... err ... "shout it out and find someone who shares the problem with you.

Seems I thought wrong ...

If I offended or annoyed anyone with this ... sorry ...

I will keep my "private things" where they belong in future ... at home ... kicking chairs and shouting at walls ... yeah ... and awaiting no answers at all.

Look Phinehas - THIS above ... that's what it looks like when I begin with whining ...............................................

OOOH OH! OOH! Mr. Kotter! Existential whining! Jean-Paul would be proud.

Whining whiners, whining about the whining. Or is it whinging?
Quote
Whine: to snivel or complain in a peevish, self-pitying way

Yes, Peevish seems to fill the bill.
[  Musical Interlude  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw1isNplu7E) ]

To paraphrase an old proverb ... One complaint does not a whine make. It is the repetition without significant change that qualifies.

PS: I hate phone companies too, but the cable companies are almost even worse.
