I was at the working at the anvil the other day, and suddenly began to ruin everything I touched.
Checking my hammer, I noticed that it was at 1/50. So were the hammers being sold by Harnquist.
Another player verified that Oja wasn't faring any better.
So while it would be nice to be able to once again buy hammers at 50/50, I am really posting to ask the question, Does it matter?
My rock pick never wears out, so does the quality of a smith hammer affect the quality of the work?
Previous to this, I'm pretty sure my hammer stayed at 50/50.

I noticed my hammer at 1/50 as well, when i just started making weapons, about last week.... so i sold it and bought a new one..... which was also 1/50 :-\ So i guess it's how it is....

The hammer is hard coded, so for now the master crafted hammer will not work till this code is changed to allow other hammers to work.

Hmm, from my experience, the Mastercrafted Hammer does work, but not in a desired way. Everytime I used it, the quality of the item I was hammering went down until it reached 0 and turned to a pile of metal or something.

Where you cold hammering? Because it seems cold hammering will do that now.

Hammering the cold blade, indeed. However, when I noticed the constant quality drop, I also went about heating the blade to all three different stages and hammered it again, yet with exactly the same result. In the end it went *poof*.
