When the game is started the whole game has laggs. my mouse can't even move right.
-
Your computer's specifications may be helpful. We can then ascertain what the cause may be.

Display Adapter: ATi Radeon Xpress 1100
your laptop with that graphics card was not built for gaming, try changing distance in options
-
That card is actually fast enough for most maps, excluding perhaps the new grass areas. Caarie's suggestion is good though, setting adaptive camera might help significantly.
-
also getting the maps that had the grass removed would help too. those files are right on the homepage www.planeshift.it
-
I have tryed both options with little success. It goes like a fraction of a second faster. I am woundering if it is the graphics card, or if something else. This is because my player isn't really noticeable, like it shows what he looks like but the entire bidy is a light blue colour, there is no detail in the background either, just different shades of brown walls, and the npcs are all solid black, ect.. Maybe that helps with what the problem is.
If my laptop just isn't capable of playing the game then is just not capable of playing it. Anyother suggestions is appreciated.

Broken texture compression maybe? Try looking in the mac osx forums in the osx howto sticky. I think it describes how to fix borked texture compression support. Long shot but worth checking out, its a quick thing to try.

or your graphics card's drivers need to be updated. :)
-
Thats actually what i was thinking to when i read another topic with the guys vista's problems. Would the driver need to be updated to the XP format that I have been reading about? and if so where could i find something like that? cause i have gone to device manager and told it to update atoumatically which it says its fully up to date. I have been reading up on this website on what to do: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=64910 (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=64910). And so far i have not been able to find anything that i can update for the 1100 card driver. Am i looking in the wrong spot? Sorry if i'm being a pain, thanks in advance.

( I assumed you were running Vista 64 bit version) That should be the updated drivers for it.

just a thought, go into (ingame) options, click on detail.
make sure your FPS cap is not low. happens to me all the time. i'm on win32 also.
should be set to 60 for most any laptop.
the game engine automatically reduces my FPS cap whenever there's a stutter, but doesn't seem to take loading time into account.
so every time i start PS, i have to resest the cap or the game engine lags, mouse doesn't work right, etc.
good luck.
laters,
