Hi,
I just installed PlaneShift 0.3.020 32-bit for windows. After installing through the executable, I ran the GUI updater the program said that the mirror "lacked a version file". So I tried the "(recover)" option from the start menu.
This a screenshot of what I got:

Apparently, I can't check for updates.
Also, when I start the game, enter my password and press the "okay" button, the game window freezes, and the mouse cannot go on top of the window. It disappeared into the background.
Here are my system specs:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 7100 @ 1.8 GHz
1024 MB or RAM
Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 950
Acer Travelmate 5720 (Laptop)
I'm quite new to this. Please help me with setting the game up, because it doesn't seem to be functioning properly on my computer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
From,
Complex Mind
P.S> Is something up with the Vista Laptops, i read 2 other posts with similar problems. Graphics driver has been updated.

No need to run the updater, when theres nothing to update at the current version ;)
try running PS as is.

Sorry, there was actually two problems, should've been clearer.
After inserting the username and password, I pressed the okay button, the screen apparently froze, and the mouse disappeared into the background. The mouse can no longer be put on top of the screen! After minamizing and re-expanding the window, the game window turns black.
I wonder why...

make sure the graphics drivers you updated to have full support for OpenGL (not directx). Sometimes users have to install the winXP versions in order to get the game to work.
don't blame us, blame Microsoft for saying they wish to rid the world of OpenGL and want everyone to use their proprietary DirectX (so they make more money)

If you're using a laptop you may have trouble getting an open GL driver as the manufactuer may only allow their drivers. In which case, dowload a driver from somewhere like www.omegadrivers.net
