I am loving this game and would be happy to contribute in a a few months when I can afford it.(hopefully my new job pulls through) I don't know If you are able to send in a computer or if you have physical access to your server.... but would you be capable of accepting a donated server? Or at least some ram? Isn't the server CPU hungry? Its odd to think that I am playing the game on a computer that cost circa 400 bucks which is more powerful than the server that I and around 200 others are connected to. :)

Right now from what i know the devs are happy with the setup they have, and are not looking for upgrades to that server that they dont own.

the server itself isn't that cpu hungry. much of the lag that you are seeing isn't on the server end but actually on yours, graphical lag causes many of the problems.

Just to add some random information that has some what to do with this topic ....
Apricot is based on Crystal Space, the same engine PlaneShift is using. So if another game gets built on the same engine, the engine will be improved and so PlaneShift will also benefit from it indirectly (depending on the features they will add).
That quote can be found in this thread here Apricot Project Launch and DVD pre-order (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30910.msg354956#msg354956)
