Title: having a serious map issue
Post by: kiwerancem on December 21, 2007, 04:38:27 am
I have replaced the hydlaa maps with the grass-less ones and when I tried to run from the library to the plaza I crashed and now if i try to start ps again my computer stalls. I think this is an issue the the hydlaa-plaza map but i could be wrong. I'm using arch linux and i got the grass-less maps from the front page. Please answer back soon.

edit: here is the contents of my errorlog.txt. Maybe this will help you guys out in figuring what is my problem (besides a crappy computer)

Sorry, no, those errors have nothing to do with your map loading problem, they are due to some art that the client looks for, but doesn't exist yet (or was removed, I haven't looked into it much). I have heard of other players crashing after changing to the grassless maps, but I haven't heard of anyone that pinpointed why... I personally used grassless maps I made myself, so I downloaded the ones linked from the main site, and they worked fine for me on svn, I don't have a release binary to test.

So I don't know, has anybody else managed to identify this problem?

By the way, you did back up the original maps right? ;)
