Title: Woo Hooo I just got a tattoo
Post by: Creathor on March 22, 2003, 03:57:31 am
I just got a tattoo, and it hurt. I don\'t know if anyone here got a tattoo before but it feels like someone keeps cutting you in the same place over and over and over again. But I do like the way it looks :)

oops, sorry forgot to post the image. Well it\'s the Aum sign, I came across it while I was browsing a character site.  I got it because I like what it symbolizes and the way it looks(I didn\'t want anything common or something I might regret).

Here\'s a link explaining what it stands for:
http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/14/1426.html (http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/14/1426.html)

And for anyone interested this is what the tattoo looks like on my skin, the guy did a wicked job, no scabbing or anything :)

cool. I don\'t see how there are 4 states in there, though. There are only two shapes. The sideways .) is the symbol for the trancendental state.  So the other three must be stuck in that 3~ thing.  Oh well, it looks cool anyway.

Yeah tattoos can hurt but I guess that\'s the point - tradionally a rite of passage.

I\'ve got 9, the biggest is one piece that covers my whole back and took 16 hours to do, damn that hurt, especially on the spine and shoulder blades.

Strange this topic came up, my friend is back from Europe, I am seeing him today, will be getting half sleeves and wrapped around on to chest. Hopefully I can avoid getting my ribs done ...

Arrg.

Sweet, the whole back tattoos look the best and can be real pieces of art. Maybe later in my life if I can get the will and the money together I would like a shaded black flame across my back, no color. Half sleeves look pertty good too, I like the ones Tim Commerford has.

Still 16 hours, must have hurt like a bitch and taken a long time to heal too.

I want to get a tatooo (one more year!) but my parentals don\'t like tatoos... lol I will be 18 in a year but STILL..

anyways, over the summer I got one of those henna tatoos. It was great. I was with this girl I had really like for the longest time, and she is an artist. So, anyways, I laid oh my stomach for like an hour or two while she stroked (read as drew on... but it felt good... this is weird me telling you all this.) my back. She drew a huge dragon that spanned from the sides of my shoulders to my back and from my neck to my butt. Oh god it was great!!!

anyways, I want one when I can get it.

Right on man way to get a Tat.  They are addecting!

Post by: tygerwilde on June 09, 2003, 10:09:44 pm
heh, I\'d love to get one, but everyone I know in town who does them charges... we have like 15 or twenty parlors in a town of only 17k peeps, serious, you drive down broadway, there\'s parlors next to parlors. and they all charge 100 bucks for a simple tat, more intricate ones cost up to 1k. I don\'t have that kinda money, ya know?
I managed to scrape up the money, last year my wife got her third for her birthday, a fairy on her left breast, she also had a rose on her thigh and a gemini on her shoulder when we met.

Jesus Christ!!!

Where is this thread going??? 8o

BTW, I would never get a tatto on myself. Anyway, I don\'t know anything about them: do they last forever? I mean, will you still have it, when you will be 60 (or more) years old? Or can it be removed?
If it is forever, I would NEVER EVER in this Earth would get a tatto. Not just because of the pain, but later, it might cause tremendous scruple (twinge of conscience), if your ways of thinking change. I say: it is VERY risky. Both because of health, and both because of the always changing slant of life.

But if you like it, then wear it! If you are happy, I wish you to always stay like that, and I also wish, that it would NEVER cause you any problems in the future!

who uses Home boy anymore? Didn\'t that go out in the 80\'s with hair bands? You follow someone around on a forum and tag their name to your sig and you call them gay? Hah thats too hillarious. Oh and if you haven\'t had a tat then you can\'t say if it hurts or not. Tat\'s hurt depending on where u have them put on. Girls getting them on their ankles, no that one doesn\'t really hurt. In contrary try getting one put on your spine or small of your back. They are very painful.

Nice tat man. Design is nice. I\'m attempting to find a design for shoulder blade, but coming up with an original design isn\'t quite as easy as I thought it would be.

Kirillian, first of all, your post is almost unreadable due to your spelling errors and incorrect grammer and punctuation. Second, Planeshift is not a kids game, and even if it is, there is nothing wrong with and adult playing one. Third, if you have nothing meaningful to contribute here, then you should keep quiet. If you dont care about Creathor getting a tatoo, then dont post anything.

Personally, I think getting a tatoo is pretty stupid (no offense). You have to pay a lot of money, it hurts a lot, and there is no way to remove it in the future...

tats are forever, they will be on you till the day you die, but if you hate a tat enough there are things you can do like get it covered by another tat of have sugury to remove it, but neither are fun, the best bet if you are thinking about a tat is find a design you like, put it away for a year and then see how you feel about it.

elminster, laser surgery can remove the scar tissue which makes up a tattoo, it\'s supposedly a fairly painless procedure, since scar tissue has no nerve endings within it, but I\'ve heard stories that refute that, saying that it\'s a fierce burning sensation, I wouldn\'t know myself

kirrilian
(probly a colt where you rape little kids).

obviously, you\'re uneducated, ignorant, intolerant of other\'s differences, or all three.

first, it\'s Celt, which makes up four fifths of the european peoples (celts were a migratory people who travelled from southeastern germany to the islands of ireland, where they settled, interbreeding with all the peoples between) and never did they eat babies, they were a shamanic peoples much like native americans and africans, and the early civilizations of nearly all cultures

I am a druid, which is actually not related in any way to celtic shamansim, we came about 500 years after the shamanistic religion died out in ireland, I won\'t go into details because a person with as little understanding of others as you will simply call me a heathen and fail to absorb another word I say.

I would never tattoo myself, but if I did I would choose the yin-yang motive.

oh, perhaps he meant cult? actually, if you want to be technical, christianity is a cult, in fact, if you look at the FBI\'s listing of the worlds most dangerous cults, christianity ranks among the top 15.

see, the definitions of a cult are very broad, let me show you how anyone, if you look closely enough, can be considered a cultist...

A system or community of religious worship and ritual.

see, all religions rely on worship and ritual, except for those that don\'t worship a given god, such as bhuddists and atheist. by this definition, something like 70 percent of the worlds population become members of a cult...

A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false

by this definition, all those that aren\'t covered above are cultists

An exclusive group of persons sharing an esoteric, usually artistic or intellectual interest.

by this definition, most of us, those of us who are truly interested in this game... a common interest, much like monty python having a cult following, it\'s all a matter of perspective...

heh, that I\'ve had happen, my best friend at the time was drawing dirty pictures in the dirt with a ball point pen, teacher was about to come around the corner, so I went over and scrubbed them out with my foot, he got mad and jabbed me in the arm with the pen, sank to the bone, it was so freaky cause I had a hole in my arm, but it didn\'t start bleeding for like ten minutes, we were sitting in the principles office when the blood started oozing out...

As a druid, I believe in one god, a god of balance, one side is the universal creator, who designed all, and brought about religions(all religions) as a means of teaching man to treat each other with kindness, and the other half is ruled by destruction, who brings about death and chaos, which is required for order to grow. neither half is evil or good

we don\'t believe in evil, all actions taken apon us in our lives, all things that happen shape us, make us who we are, if we commit a crime, it\'s merely a touch of the destroyers influence on our past, something bad that happened that caused a slight personality flaw

now, although we don\'t believe in evil doesn\'t mean that we don\'t believe in wrong, just because we have these flaws passed along to us in the past doesn\'t mean that we are required to pass them along

our religion is very disorganised, most practice without any connection to the church, I myself am debating joining, I\'m leaning towards staying independent truly

there are three major factions, in our religion, because of the duality nature of our god, order, neutrality and chaos. all are considered equals within the orderwho are below the high priest, although even he has little power among us, we have few rituals, mostly centering around our holy objects, or the four gates (the origin of the winds/points/spirits ritual, although wiccans have claimed for years that they designed that ritual) I am the only druid in the area in which I live, we were also the first to celebrate the solstices and equinoxes.

we also believe in meditative magic, which is where most people come to believe that we\'re quacks,

if you want to learn in more depth what we believe, an excellent source of information is \"The twenty one lessons of merlin\" the authors name slips from my mind at the moment, but it\'s gives an alternate arthurian history, where young arthur meets merlin, who trains him in the way of the druid as guidance in tolerance to make him a good king, every chapter comes with a lesson guide, giving history of the gaelics, history of druids, and lessons in our rituals and beliefs

I\'ve got henna an my arm right now. It\'s supposed to stay on for 4 weeks but it\'s rubbing off after 5 days. And you\'re supposed to wait 6 hours till you peel off the stuff so I had to keep my arm perfectly straight because I drew it from the top of my hand to the inside of my elbow and I was afraid of messing it up.

I went with my sister a little while ago when she went to get her second tatoo, just a little christian fish, and I saw some Tibetan symbols I really liked.

I considering taking up being a tatoo artist while in college to pay for things but it seems like there\'s so much training involved that it would take up too much of my time and money for a non-permenant career.

Just a piece of advice, don\'t get any band-names or symbols. Linkin Park will probably become the equivalent of the Beegees in 30 years.

Peace

you\'re prolly just shedding your skin fast is all. See, henna dyes the top layers of your skin, whereas tats put the ink under your skin and scar tissue. When your skin dies and flakes away, the henna marks fade. Don\'t worry, it\'s a natural process of your body.
