Sorry to all who liked the Yliakum Chronicle, but a problem arose that forces me to quit making it, at least until certain issues are resolved. Those who paid me for sponsorship will be refunded fully.
Thanks everybody, it was fun, and I really appreciated the great feedback.

???
Well that's a shame. I didn't even get to buy an issue. :(
-
Giraut
I hope it can be resolved. It was a great paper.
-
Wow... that's the shortest a PS paper has lasted yet...
-
Heh, I never even saw you in game. The discussion to name lasted longer than the paper? :'(
-
This certainly came as a big surprise(!)
-
I see the forum cynics can always be counted on.
-
it's what happen when you become old and crusty.
they also don't have access to all the forum boards so they don't understand the true reasons why the paper is on hiatus for the time being.
-
Hey do I still get my 50 Tria refund for my paper, aye, AYE!?!
Naw just kidding, it was a good read while it lasted, I will miss it indeed.
-

Now that can count as a kind way to let the player-base know they, as part of the majority, are actually knowing heck but dont matter anyway. Not sure if some a bit more cunningly chosen words would have been better. Disappoints, but unfortunately doesnt surprise me.
I unfortunately couldnt read that new paper. I heard of it not too long ago and I was looking forward for having a new ingame news-platform.
Keep on it and bring it up again!

You will get your refund if you ask it. And I will pay out the contest prizes for the last edition also, so keep looking for the hidden item. It hasn't been found yet :)

Very sad to hear this. I wonder if the Octarchy is trying to silence honest news reporters here. Perhaps, Giraut, we should meet. If we band together we will surely be victorious over the ones that attempt to keep information from the public!
-
I thought tuxide bought out the paper?.... Or was that the herald?

Don't you think there are forums for the game masters to work out issues with in the community? Please people stop trying to make it out to be like your left out of things on purpose by the PlaneShift staff. You are not! I have been there and seen it for myself. They work out issues to better help the players in game. Also Neko's comment is to let all of you know that there is more to it than just Giraut shutting down the paper. Maybe an issue has come up that the general public doesn't know about and doesn't need to be involved in until the GM's work it out. That's pertty much what I am getting from Neko's comment.

Chill Zorbs... Chill.
For my part I care little about reasons... Just pointing out facts. There have been different reasons for different papers closing throughout the history of PS, what does it really matter? I wasn't insinuating that the editor was a failure as a person.
-
Been there, done that and I have to say I am rather unsurprised that this happened.
'nuff said

Chill Zorbs... Chill.
Hmmm, perhaps I should put smilies in my post so that people don't misunderstand my mood. I am quite chilled Phinehas. :) Just explaining a little clearer to those who think they are "left out" of the PS stuffs.
-
And here I thought it went under because too many freeloaders were reading it at the newsstand and not bothering to purchase it. Anyway, a new business tends to take years to start making a reasonable profit so if you are not dedicated to the proposition you will likely have to try a multitude of things until you become an overnight success.

I never bought out either of those names, but perhaps this means the Chronicle is also for sale now? :-) It would be kind've hard to RP a newspaper if one can't mass-produce it. Above all, one has to play this game passionately, which is what Giraut was doing.
-
so you ran out of trees to make paper eh? well i enjoyed the 3 issues that were in print, i'll keep them in our guildhouse library
-
hmmm the paper was closed for GM reasons?
Here I was thinking it was just something personal OOC when reading the first posts.
*blinks and scratches head*
Not quite sure why a paper would be closed down by GMs and why it would be kept confidencial why they did so. I mean better to not mention that part at all then or to tell the reason. Hinting like that only makes it vague.
*smiles*
Or not close the paper untill the GMs decided so one can tell everything, but I asume that wasn't an option or you would have done that I hope.
Sorry to hear the paper stopped though. I really feel such innitiatives make Planeshift a better place to be.

The Yliakum Chronicle was a newspaper I looked forward to reading, Girault.
Thanks for your effort to bring us news and I hope to see it back in production.
-
Hmm bad news :(
I hope you will be able to fix that problem soon. Your chronicles are really really nice and gives a lot of interest in game. It gives a life and a sort of history to Yliakum.
I will miss your newspaper but i really hope you will find a solution. It was too good to be forgotten.
If I can help in something you'll have my support.
Congrats and thanks for your works.
