I do see that this was done intentionally in the past for weapons balancing however I have noticed trias missing and now items. I had gotten down to 7 trias last week and logged out. As I logged in the next time I noticed I had 0 trias! This would not have been cought except that I had already suspected missing trias previously and was watching as well as the fact that you can't buy ANYTHING for 7 trias. So, I played again and built up some trias and I bought two armor repair kits. I used one and could not use the other and and logged off after putting the last kit back in my inventory slot. I just logged in and NO REPAIR KIT!
Some background information:
The account is brand new and I have no one that I share my account with so this is concerning.
I had thought I was missing just a few trias as I logged in on two seperate occassions previously.
Since I am currently learning the game I have been writing down items/prices and where to find them as well as training locations.
Can anyone advise on this issue?

you can edit your own posts. you click on the modify button.
and as far as missing items, server lag has been known to make inventory appear as though items are missing, when in fact all it takes is a refresh or two and they seem to magically be back.

Well, that might have been the case for the trias since I can't say for sure that it didn't "refresh" and show up after I started earning, I doubt it though. In the case of the armor repair kit though, I am still playing (hours later) and still no repair kit has returned. Are you saying I should have to log out and then back in? If that is the case then that is a bit of an issue as nobody will want to do that everytime items dissapear due to lag, and on the other hand if you are saying that I can play for hours and still not see this item "refreshing" in my inventory then that is a bit of a problem as well.
Thinking of the players experience, simply writing this off to lag and refresh issues is probably not the answer a player would want to hear. Imagine mining or fight creatures for a week to get enough drops or trias to buy a nice weapon or armor and then logging off only to log on the next day and find it has simply vanished. Now you ask for help and are told "a refresh or two and they should magically be back". Add to that, as in my case, they don't come back. This will dishearten players quickly.
Also, typically with lag I should see slow downs, mouse hangs, random character/NPC oddities lik e teleporting, etc... I have not really experienced any of these problems today that I have noticed.
Given these facts, is there anything else that comes to mind with this issue?

He means close your inventory window and open it back up again.

This is an issue with your RAM and how much of it psclient currently takes up, try freeing up some more. I don't have a problem with the mouse thing because I compiled my own client from SVN.

Tuxide, re -read, I am saying _IF_ I had lag I would see these problems and I went on to say that I do _NOT_ see these issues which with dual 2.66 Mhz cpus, nVidia FX 6800 and 4 GB ram I really should'nt. Also, as I stated that I have been playing for _HOURS_ I am sure that is enough information to tell yyou that I have opened and closed my inventory many times.
Unless you are the type to run around fighting and navigating with your inventory window open at all times, I have a 20" monitor and can't seem to manage that one well. Even with a monitor that size inventory is still in the way a bit :)

Well, you could've meant the mini-inventory. PlaneShift has a command called /show bag, but thanks for clarifying yourself.
EDIT: /show bag, my bad
-
hmmmm...
/bag just gives me the response:
Sorry. Unknown command (Use /help)
but I think I know what you are referring to. Sorry, I didn't think of that window in my previous post.
Problem remains thought, I have lost items and money and I think it is safe to assume that "lag" is not the issue here. I am aware that hardware is not the only cause of lag, network latency, and many other factors can be attributed but as I have stated, I do not see typical "lag" symptoms and the refresh has not brought back trias or items. This is a bit more that just lag I am afraid.

I think the command Tuxide meant was '/show bag' which should bring up the mini-inventory. As for your actual problem, I haven't noticed it but I will keep an eye on my tria count from now on.
