When I enter "Planeshift" in google i get the "This site may harm your computer" page.
You might want to sort this out with Google...
-
Confirmed, I get the same thing with Google (http://www.google.com/search?q=planeshift).

Not here:
Debian Sid
Iceweasel 2.0.0.11; NoScript 1.2.6;

hmm... it's not fixed on mine. Unless google hasn't refreshed their database yet.
-
Confirmed, got the same message. o.O
-
It'll take a few days to get updated.
-
It worries me more how it got there in the first place. It seems someone out there has something against PlaneShift in a bad way.
-
given some ofthe chatter that i've been watching it looks like a generlaized thing, rather then anything more specific. and poorly writen to boot. but it has been seen amoung the various board owners that i've been watching the chatter of.
-
It is often generalized as steuben says. They would rarely target individual sites themselves. There is likely something triggering it such as the downloading, a keyword, or similar trigger.

The problem is fixed on the planeshift.it end; however it could take several weeks for Google to update theirs. From Google's Webmaster Tools (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools):
Please allow several weeks for the re-evaluation process. Unfortunately, we can't reply individually to reconsideration requests.
I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather not sit here and take this nonsense.

curious, how -do- they determine what is goodware/badware?
is it from recommendations of other people? or what?

Google determines it using their automated virus scanner that runs on an undetermined schedule.
For a clarification, this is not about the PlaneShift client download, this is about the website...and just in case anyone has any doubt about psclient (http://games.softpedia.com/progClean/PlaneShift-Clean-19240.html).

It has been removed now. In stead there is a neat sub menu thing!

anyone anything else to add?
