Post by: marvlix on January 17, 2008, 02:57:58 am
I`ve just succesfully installed (i think) planeshift. I`m running opensuse 10.3 KDE.

When i execute planeshift, updater or setup nothing happens.

on a side note i`ve only been using suse linux for 3 weeks.

Help needed.

what do you mean by execute?
I'm going to assume you installed it in the default dir  /opt/Planeshift

try
alt+F2 in the box type konsole and click run

in Konsole type cd /opt/Planeshift
followed by

./pssetup

to set  screensize skin and other options

or

./psclient

to run Planeshift

By execute i meant starting. Planeshift is in /home/scampbell/Documents/Spil/ so i went to its folder, opened terminal in the folder and typed: ./pssetup I got this message:
http://pastebin.com/m33e89c4 (http://pastebin.com/m33e89c4)

Afterwards it went into the program which looked fine except it fails to get connection to server, when pressing launch.

I then i tried ./psclient it started up just fine it seemed, though the graphic looks a bit weird, (pixels are huge around arrows).
I quit the game to see the command log, which looked like this:
http://pastebin.com/m625fd9d9 (http://pastebin.com/m625fd9d9)

I tried just clicking on update and this time it also started up, but non of the mirrors seemed to be working, then it quit, and it looked like it removed a file.
Could this be true? or is the update just very small?

.....and thanks by the way
