Hello,
I was told (ingame) , that a weapon (my newly found claymore) with a speed of 1.5 or better won't work as they should - because those weapons are bugged at the moment.
Is this correct? ???
Thank you
Stef

The way to find out is to put a shield in one hand and the claymore in the other. If you do very little or no damage, it is bugged. My understanding is that most weapons with speed 1.50 are bugged and have been for an extended period of time.

They may be bugged in the sense that they do not seem to do the damage that you would expect from a 1.5 slash weapon. But that is just a number your character does not know. Your character has a weapon, and when (s)he hits something with it, it will do damage. Nothing bugged about that.

Actually Laranel, those weapons do no damage .. they frequently miss even though their quality is the same as other slower weapons. Somehow the engine says fast is inaccurate.
I definitely call this a bug .. of course a claymore of a speed of 1.5 is completely unrealistic and shouldn't even exist but hey. :P My assumption was that these super fast items have too much of an advantage over everything else, especially in duels so the Devs disabled them on purpose until they are fixed?

It is a bug, as reported in the bug tracker (http://www.hydlaa.com/flyspray_upgrade/index.php?do=details&task_id=134). And as you can see there from my remark on the 24th of august, I do agree with you: the biggest bug is those weapons having such speeds in the first place :)
There probably is something wrong in the damage calculations. Unfortunately the people who make the formulas seem to be busy with other (also important) things.

Alrighty, I'll be quiet then .. thought you said they weren't really bugs in your previous post. :D

I thought they still did some useable damage, in which case these looted weapons are just weapons that do not much damage. But it seems they really do no damage. Anyway, it is not a major problem. There are more weapons you loot that do no damage, just see those as belonging in that category.
THis is of course different from things not being as they are intended, which always is a bug.
