Title: textures missing?

hey guys,

when i first started the game, it looks like this.

i have followed the instuctions of arianna. (Windows Vista and some trouble?)

What can i do now?

Whoa that looks cool, what kind of framerate do you get?  What kind of graphics card are you using to achieve this and do you have the latest drivers?

hi,

yes i have the latest drivers installed (forceware 169.25)
i use a GeForce 7650GS with 256mb
my framerates are around 50

did you modify anything in your pssetup.exe or you let the options by default?

yeah, i made some modifies:

use fullscreen mode (1024x768)
set the vertex buffer object to on
set antialaising to 8
set anisotropy filtering to 16

one of those are maybe causing your problem. though i dont know what they do  :-[ try to set back them one by one to their default setting. see if it fixes the problem  :)

it didn't solve my problem. i already have re-installed my graphics card.
does anyone have further tips for me?

That's cool!

The bar on top of the game, with the x, and the minimize button, is multi-colored too... I don't know much about computers, but if the bar is screwed up along with the game, it seems to be the computer, not the files of the game that are messed up.

that is normal in vista as the bar is transparent and shows some of what is under it

your issue is your graphics card drivers and vista not communicating well with opengl.  m$ wanted vista to only work well with their proprietary directx, but we are cross platform, so we use opengl as it is cross platform and directx is not.

its a common problem with vista, and m$ just doesn't care.

a common fix is to install the winxp driver versions for your card and that typically solves the issue, but by doing so you will lose the spiffy aero abilities vista prides itself on.

Looks like the broken texture compression issue some people have on macs.  Might check the mac forum stickies to see how they work around it.  Worth a try at least.
