Secret guardians was originaly a group of saviour people that keep the secret of the ancient glyph "hydlaa", they realized that that kind of power couldn't be suported by mortal beens so they hide it and erase all proves of the glyph existence after this the society was disolved. Now secret Guardians reborn in the dark, in hylda city where the bandits are trying to gain control of the city, guiding and protecting yliakum citizens the actualls member try to find the old holy artefact and again bring peace to the yliakum world.

Hydlaa glyph is considered just a myth for almost all people and those who believe in their existece see it like uncontrolable fount of magical power unable to control by a simply mortal, some myths told us that his extraordinary magic was used in order to create the first races that habited the world.

Secret guardians guild is ruled by five ancients who belongs to diferents races, one of them called Head of council takes the main control and give some lines to follow to the other ones (counciliors), myths told that ancient magic flow for the blood of this people, descendents of originals guardians, cause of the exposition to the Hydlaa glyph, this myth told us too that when counciliors fight together and they are able to awake this power everything can be done.

Goals

Secret Guardians goal is to improve game experience in yliakum, for us too  ;), in order to achieve that we create funny events, as FOG Tournament (read about it in our webpage),  and we try to help lost ones in this world to find their way.

     *All members must respect IC talk in the guild chat in order to impove game experience
     *Keep a nice actitud with all yliakum people, members or no, our guild pretend to be an ancient and saviour , please play accord it.
     *Help others if you can, remeber we all were newbies some day

This is a rather dangerous history you guys have, you're claiming to be a part of settings material, having a history that you didn't really build up yourself in-game but just claim to have. I know it's fun to be powerful and mythical but some other players might take offense in that .. or even worse, they'll take it as an example and start thinking up more incredible background stories until we're all gods zapping others with lightning bolts :P It might not be a bad idea to tone your history down a bit and play out most of what you want in game, then you can claim without question that you're genuine. ;)

Also I'd make your guild's goals a bit more in line with your history. You're a big secret organisation that protects enormous power from mortals ... and organises tournaments and helps new people. See the strange jump made? You try to build in some history in your guild name, which is all nice but from your goals that history doesn't show at all. A secret organisation wouldn't organise public tournaments in my eyes.

Last question, why is your guild tag not secret? I see people walking around with 'Secret Guardians' in big letters above their heads .. kinda strange :P

I agree with Zan, and lend whatever weight I can to his opinion... with one small difference... I deny the disclaimer. To get the gist of my opinion, read his post, then take it offensively and be insulted. Newbie.

Thank you for your critics. We have talked about it. We will surely elaborate the Text of the History of the Secret Guardians Guild in the next time.
Maybe then some of your critics will be gone. What i can say for now: We never claimed to be gods. Read the history carefully and you will agree.
We ARE open in the lower ranks, which doesnt mean we have to be open in the higher ranks. In this sense there is no discrepancy between open
and secret guild. We want to learn our members and work with them. We are not an exclusive club of "majestic" people. Everyone can participate at
our nice events and have fun. If it suits his character, one can proove, if he or she is able to be a fundamental member of the Secret Guardians Guild.

I think they already agree that you never claimed to be gods and thats not what I think anyone meant to say. Its more that your history is sort of "godmoddish" (not the best word to go there). You tie your guild closely with the settings, a good thing. However your involvement with the Hydlaa glyph is a little too much. Especially the fact that I doubt you'll oocly say your history is just a myth. If so there would be no problem. Its the fact that your kind of saying that you had responsibilities to guard what was Talads most powerful glyph that makes it sound like your writing history, which would be the job of someone on the settings team, not a players.

Its this kind of thing that creates what Zan was refering too. If more people made guilds simular to yours then everyone would be in a sense "godly." If I made a guild that was supposed to have helped Laanx create the book of names and we were all instilled with Raw Magic (just like that in the settings) I'd be accused of the same. Not saying its bad if you want to protect some kind of mystic power, just don't make it the most prized power of a god...thats claiming that your very important.  ;)

Since everyone's doing a great job at handing critiques, I'll just add that some Secret guilds benefit from not having a Promotion Thread in the PlaneShift forums, as it greatly supports the secrecy concept. Yours isn't the case though, as you did require some help. If I were you I'd play around with your guild structure and background until you get positive feedback, then simply forget this thread and try to work influence within the game (unless your intention is to have a charming guild and not a secret one).

EDIT:
Why is "Fight For Glory" FOG?

And I still think you should find a way to be less friendly (with making friendly tournaments and parties around Hydlaa) or to make that friendlyness consistent with your guild. Secret Guilds aren't usually social... Mostly because that usually makes it less secret. You can still be a guild that tries to win influence from making people merry.

FOG? Founding of Guild? I dunno just an idea...
