Imperial Diplomatic Service
Diplomacy is the art of letting someone have your way.
The Imperial Diplomatic Service is the Dark Empire’s mouth and public face. The Envoys assist with communication between the Empire and other various external entities. They specialize in linguistics, mediation, and of course diplomacy.
Structure
Ranks:
* Aides are Envoys in training, usually working under the tutelage of Envoys and charged with simple escorting or messaging duties;
* Envoys are the standard members of the Imperial Diplomatic Service with the duty of establishing communication between the Empire and other entities.
* Consuls are mediators and negotiators, fully aware of the Empire’s needs and resources, therefore capable of representing the Empire’s interests.
* Emissaries, walking Embassies that coordinate the efforts of the Aides, Envoys and Consuls and assist the Ambassador in managing the Guild.
* Ambassador is the one who manages the Imperial Diplomatic Service in day to day operations as well as keeps the Shadowlord informed of all political and diplomatic matters.
Leadership:
In the Imperial Diplomatic Service, the Ambassador and the Emissaries are the only ones responsible for handing orders and establishing methods.
Imperial Diplomacy Service’s Uniform Code:
The formal dress code for the IDS is simple and spartan, light gray capes with open-faced hoods over their normal clothing. Officer ranks, Emissaries and the Ambassador, wear pristine white capes over their normal attire. A crimson mantle denotes the Ambassador. The unit’s insignia rides upon the left breast of the cape, a dark black circle trimmed in silver with a silvery lantern and golden flame.
Code of Ethics:
1) Empire First - All of our actions are public extensions of the Empire, don’t dishonor our brethren.
2) Respect the hierarchy - Never publicly disagree with your leaders, use private conversations to express your dissent.
3) Communication is key - Learn all sides of a situation, understanding the environment is important.
4) Use your head - This is your most powerful tool.
5) Calmness is disarming - Always project a safe and confident demeanor, this quells most problems and is your most potent defense.
6) Continue your training - Always better yourself.
Joining
To join the Imperial Diplomatic Service, register an account at the Shadow Force Forums and post your application in the letterbox or contact one of the members in game.

1) Mature mindset
2) Quick thinking
3) Strong Emotional Control
4) Loyalty to the Dark Empire
5) Self-reliance
6) Silver-tongued
7) Extrudes Confidence
Advancement:
Aides will remain in their current rank until they have accumulated a predetermined number of guild points (25). These points are awarded for completing tasks and for enhancing the Dark Empire’s public image, or extraordinary service.
Guild Points are bestowed in 1,2,or 5 point allotments, and deductions will represent the grievous nature of the offense.
Awards:
1) Objectives Completed
2) Objectives Completed with additional benefits.
5) Major Windfall for the Shadow Force or Empire
Once the Aide has accumulated enough guild points, they are promoted to Envoy, where they continue their learning and service. The promotions continue at seventy-five guild points for Consul and promotions to Emissary are at the discretion of the Ambassador.

Pretty sure your seventh requirement for joining violates your sixth. By which I mean, you're looking for the word "exude", not "extrude".
Also, I was wondering who's leading this guild, as I can only think of Sangwa or Hwnae actually matching your requirements. And what Force is it part of?

That should answer your first question, Phinehas. There are more capable Imperials besides Hwnae or Sangwa .. they just don't all have such a public role.
As for the second. Technically the IDS will be tied in with the Empire's information services, which makes it a part of the Shadow Force. I'm sure that it will serve as a bridge between all four of our forces though, having representatives from each.

/me teases Rooker by waving his Silver Tongue badge around.
-
No, I wasn't wondering what an ambassador was... I'm wondering who the ambassador is. What member of the DE is currently bearing the title "ambassador"?
-
Rooker is the Overlord responcible for this guild .. whether he already named an ambassador or not and who it is, I can't answer for him.
-
*shakes her head*
None has been named officially yet. obviously Rooker and I suspect Sangwa aswell will be keeping a close eye on this.
-
Garile's suspicions are right. Rooker Temekes and Sangwa Greenmoon are currently both leading the Imperial Diplomatic Service until the Ambassador role can be earned by someone. A more specific answer would include the fact that I am leading the guild, as far as the guild system is concerned.
Like Hwnae says, IDS belongs to the Shadow Force, but its members will have tight connections to the other Forces as they are meant to represent these as well.
For the thread, I believe Rooker could make it look better with some highlighting (increase important titles' size + make subtitles bold), plus using the list function. I have nothing to comment on the rest, since it's not the first time I see this information.
-
Sangwa's assertations are off-kilter on his apparent leadership role with the IDS. This unit is entirely a Shadow Force guild, and as such, controlled by the Shadowlord, as Hwnae has previously pointed out. Further, Imperial multi-guilders are accepted into this guild.
The role of Ambassador is currently vacant, awaiting the right candidate to step in and take the immediate reins of control from the Shadowlord. Until that time comes, I am running the IDS as well as the candidate search.
-
Right... People are really going to want to engage in diplomatic relations with a guild that belongs to the Shadow Force...
Buncha spies, you are.
-
What spies?
The Shadow Force is made up out of diplomats, messengers, scouts and investigators.
-
Rooker: I think Phinehas' answer was also meant to discern who currently occupied the rank of leadership within the guild, as an in-game system. Hence my answer. The topic post clearly stated how leadership works within the IDS, so I made this interpretation of his question about actual leadership. It's comprehensible that without having information rise in the chain orderly, our diplomatic efforts would be complicated.
The Dark Empire is an united community. Those who, unreasonably, believe the Dark Empire isn't a trustworthy organization have no reason to hate one Force and love the other, as they're all part of the whole. Unless, of course, it suits their interests to do so, a concept to which we are not hostile, as we'd rather be partially liked than totally disliked.
The Shadow Force is the obvious container of the Imperial Diplomatic Service, as it allows for the diplomats within to be kept up to date on external and internal events.
EDIT to add to the first sentence.
-
My hostility arises from the fact that the last time I had anything to do with the Shadow Force, Nurahk was in charge. Trustworthy my weak, decrepit foot.
-
Personal hostilities should be played out in-game, not in guild threads. These are for remarks on the guild and it's structure.
-
Just like Zan says. Anymore of this irrelevant (OOC-wise) off-topicness will be deleted.
Please stick to comments about guild structure and topic design, and of course, expose your doubts about the workings of this guild. Thank you.

Update:
Rinenud Ginat is the current Ambassador of the Dark Empire. Should anyone have any requests, queries or proposals of any kind to put to the Empire, these should be brought up to him.
