Since a thread hasn't been made about it yet--as far as I can tell-- I decided to draw everyone's attention to this. \\o// We are not only getting a new release--as I had suspected was coming soon :whistling: anyway --- but it is version 4.00 not just 3.021. I personally have little developing experience so I believe that is a big thing to skip a lot of numbers like that. If I'm right I think we owe the devs a hand.

It's not "skipping a lot of numbers", it's just 0.3 --> 0.4 ;)
It's not like they would've gone on to 0.3.999 before 0.4 :P

3. Necklace of the, uhm... Not-Future. (alright, so some may be a little rough around the edges.)

6. Toe Ring of the Past (a modern twist on an old favorite? :P).
and last but not least...

[I was just getting used to Crystal Blue and now I have to accept Steel Blue? What happend to the other crystals? Is this going to have a negative effect on my magic training now that we move to a more physical realm in naming convention?]
[Do I have my actual form now or do I still look like another race?] It's so hard to be a Lemur that can barely run from town to the magic shop because of my lack of endurance and still look like those newbies that came here after my people settled here. Running around with pink skin that barely get winded. {Zikol shivers at the idea of being something he is not.}
[Also will my friends look like they should?] How should I find a mate of proper lineage when she doesnt look like me? [Will I be able to see my friends in their true forms or are they still borrowed?]

I can't wait to see all the new stuff either but, in a weird way I think I am also kind of looking forward to what ever goofy glitches Steel Blue is going to inevitably have. Anyone remember a certain menki that didn't know a mug from an Energy glyph? How about that time when any time a character fell they'd crash the server. That last one was pretty annoying at the time but in hindsight it's pretty hilarious. :P
Oh, the joys of playing a game still in development.

"Likely" isn't the word I'd use. But I think what you get will be crowd-pleasin' nonetheless.

System Naming Process:
MB - Obviously, the game started off as a molecule; an idea, if you will.
CB - In the previous release, people hunted crystals.
SB - In CB, people would crowd around the furnace and powerlevel their crafting.
It's all based on the last release and what the game was/what peoples' actions were. Once SB progresses a little further, according to this little chain of name evolution, the next release after SB will have a name based on what people did in SB. :P

i wouldn't id be too excited and run down there... but i guess i've never been around for a NAME change in the version... was Oja added last time it changed? ;D
but i would be expecting the character models and stuff first :P

If you from the CB versions become oldbies, what am I, MB veteran that i am, Antidiluvian? Sheesh, I keep getting older an older, and still no one respects me vernerable wisdom. **Sigh** Tabei these days just don't know their history, or historical figures for that matter.

Ok I'm not that computer savy. When they say you'll have to download a new client. That means that you will not be able to just use the current CB updater doesn't it? and i will still remain hopeful about a Kran hometown.

the current updater will not work anymore as it has been replaced it is officially useless now :P

Main server will stay down for today and part of tomorrow for an upgrade to version 0.4.00. You will need a new client to connect to the 0.4.00 version. The client download will be available shortly. Thanks!

According to what I have heard they have been updated, it's only the links that read 0.3.0.20, the actual files are supposed to be the 0.4 version.
Yahoo, already been in, a few more guards at Oja and some new signposts, was just heading to some place called "the leaky rock" and it crashed, oh noes, and no I'm not going to tell you where The Leaky Rock is, find out for yourself later.

The new release is sure to bring many great things. New friends, new features, new maps (I hope :D) perhaps even a new race... But, what is most important is the simple fact that, in a few months, people will start missing CB and I will be there, along with a few others, to talk about how CB was nothing, and how much we miss MB. And then I will feel old and it will be awesome :P
By the way Myysst, we're both way too cool to be anything other than Midbies for life :P

Where are the "logs" in version 0.4.00? i don't find them...

They have been moved from the game folder to the user folder, in Vista look in c:\documents and settings\your user name\application data\planeshift. A similar location should be found for XP, and oh yes "application data" is a hidden folder so you will need to turn on "show hidden files and folders" to see it.

I haven't played PS in over a year, in part because I was frustrated with technical issues. Maybe I should give it another try now that many of the old issues have been resolved.
