the list here: http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=25012.0 is out of date.
thusly, we'll be making anew one to correspond with the new release of SB.
please provide a list of skills/stats that are working/not working.
skills/stats that are defined as working are ones that can be trained, and used and upon using them, they do increase in level.
everything else falls into the not working category.
Thanks!
also, I'm slowly going through the stickies and what not getting things updated as should, but if you see anything, anywhere that you think is out of date, feel free to send a PM to the moderation staff so that we look into it.
Thanks again!

The amount of stickies in the General section is just scandalous (http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/1558/zomgbinkbyblacklemon67qa6.gif)

well, you should know its always a little messy after a new release :P
oh, and if anyone sent the mod staff about this thread: http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=24432.0 I just took care of it, and will be working on the rest of the stickies in that section in the intermittent future.
keep those lists of skills/stats that are working/not working coming in. :)

and please, update the Player Guide that comes with the install for next version. Looks like that hasn't been done in years either :)
compared to how great the game now looks, and the many features that arent mentioned in it ....

Cooking and Baking are working now.

Lockpicking? You're not serious, are you? Someone actually thought it was a good idea to make criminal acts possible with no law enforcement in place? We've been begging for locking trunks for months and first to come out is that which makes them worthless? Guess I'll just keep making alts for storage since that's the only thing that might be safe.
MrG
PS can I get a few more accuonts activated please?
-
Polearm and Spear is trainable? With what? As far as I know, those that look like Polearm and Spear (such as Magic Wand) are actually Mace and Hammer.
-
I 'might' be wrong, but as for anti-magic, i can buy up training, i sometiems see Myysst resisting magic in system tab, but no effect on the green bar, as far as I can tell, since i don't aways resist magic. So I guess, it doesn't fit in the 'working' skills section, unless someone can confirm, as in actually gaining practice points, or a rank even...

Working skills:
Lockpicking
Well, there is a trainer for Lockpicking but since there are no locks which can be picked you cannot train this skill. There is a rumor about a pickable chest in a NPC-room but as no normal player can go there...
Lockpicking?
Yes, very nice skill.
You're not serious, are you?
Hmmm...come to think of it...well...actually...yes, seriously. ;D
Someone actually thought it was a good idea to make criminal acts possible with no law enforcement in place?
Actually...yes, what a dream for us rogues. ;D It is really nice to see all these powergamers quiver in fear of loosing their precious items. ;D

Powergamer? Umm no. Merchant? Yes. With far too few slots, far too small containers, and no containers that conceal their contents. I don't think it's appropriate for my entire inventory to be publically viewable, and to set down some locked chests only to have them cleaned out in a matter of seconds would be disasterous. Until a PC merchant has the ability to instantly surround himself with guards with actual power of arrest and punishment and restitution, crime skills need to be set aside, otherwise they are nothing more than an exploit.
I've already been robbed by a player exploiting items not being guarded when server restarts after a crash. This cost me a lot of tria, and GM's were powerless to take corrective action due to mechanical limitations...not their fault at all, just mechanically not possible despite a pile of evidence as to who the thief was.

Somehow I do not think a PC merchant will ever be able to "instantly surround himself with guards with actual power of arrest and punishment and restitution," that would not be too realistic, would it? One can already hire, theoretically, PC guards but of course they have no more power than you but they might be able to relog faster. This is a prime reason to not put your wares out on a table, the ground or elsewhere. Make a book with a price list and put it out. when a suc--customer asks about an item you can show it to them in a trade window. The chance of loosing more than the price list in a crash will be much reduced. It might not look as nice but them's the breaks. It is better than losing your inventory to an opportunist.
Eventually an item bank will be implemented, I am not certain how they will use locks.

Metallurgy has been working for a long time :)

Shield Handling? I would say its possible to equip and craft shields, but shields wont have an effect when used in fights, no?

Hmm looks like its still a crafting game :( . nice for those who love crafting. been waiting for alchemy/ herbology / and the magic enchanting skills. try to diversify a bit folks. Before a gm bites my head off... its time for a new meaningful job than the crafting of "warcraft". will pop in now and then. i think this is my first post in over a year here. Last i was in game was in 0.18 and yes been a while. came sometime to chk out the new town from krans and stuff. But with none of the jobs i wanted and rp boredom wont be back till i see some job that intrests me. Crafting the usual type seems to be where this game is headed. If it gets back onto its oringinal plans wpuld be nice. Dont need rejoinders form GMs on this post. Its just an observation from an oldplayer passing thru to see if any intresting stuff that "i" liek are in. Other than that liked the competition for the new towns being created. Very nice. Just give some thought for those who arnt too crazy about "warcraft" crafting -,- . see u in a few months to see whats going on. good luck.
-
what does that have to do with creating a list of working/non working skills? nothing! that what.
