ya.... whats happpend with the new economy system?
yesterday i could sell an apple for ~80 trias, today for 0.
or gold or or or ....
whats happend? was this new feature the ground for the server crashes?
why it is removed?

New Features:
- Better economy! Prices can change depending on Supply & Demand and the time of day.
- Dynamic item price calculation. Higher quality products will sell for more trias to NPCs.
taken from the changelog
the more people sell in a given amount of time, the lower the value they are worth.

My guess is simply: They are still changing it a lot and turn it off when they see it is in a state when people can abuse it.
EDIT:
okay, Neko was faster. So I guess it is balancing at the moment. I think this is great.

Jonerian: what?
Neko: it's offline, the new eco system. all things... _all_ have the same prices like in crystal blue. there is no change. so i think it's offline or buggy??

@Tyrania
If there are not enough people using the system (due to crashes or different) and there are smaller bugs concerning the economy, people could make money through speculating.
So if you can buy lots of things very cheap (same price for the next 2 million pieces). Price goes up. Selling 2 million pieces for a lot (with the same price for every piece).
This is just speculation for now, since I didn't have the chance to test yet. I still crash when I open the inventory.
This depends of course on where the price changes exactly. Routine based or exactly at the right moment in both cases.
Anyways, just speculations why it could be reasonable to take the old system from time to time for different small bugs.

Sounds like it still needs some serious work. Hard to believe anyone would pay 80 tria for an apple unless there wasn't an apple tree for a thousand miles. Still new functions need testing and it is good to have them to test. To me an appropriate range might be 10%-1000%. Unfortunately for many things the supply will be effectively infinite and the demand negligible.
