I am Gorphus Grenfel. I like to craft and mine alot. I have bought my theory training and am using my skills very often. I monitor my practice regularly and of late I have recieved no increase in any of my active practice!!! How am i supposed to advance without my use of skills earning the rewards they deserve??? It grieves me deeply that I am being held back like this. Please can someone guide me to a solution!
[technical details: amd2400, 1gig ram, 2x40gig hdd, 1x80gig hdd, onboard audio, wireless connection thru broadband at 8meg. XP sp2, steel blue]

There are two steps to leveling a skill: training and practicing. It sounds like you are done practicing and it is time to train again.

not so rayken. All my training theory[yellow bar] has been paid for[is now green] days ago. I have watched all of them and there has been no advance toward completing those levels even tho I have used those skills frequently. I also get no practice points awards in my system tab. i.e. as you would expect if say hitting an ore during mining. This has been going on for about three days at least! I'm not happy about it because advancing levels is such a major part of the game. My stats are working fine. It's just my skills.

Hm, I've recently learned that your not the only one with this problem. Doesn't help much I know, but at least you're not alone. Seriously though, it's being looked into.

i can confirm this bug happened to me too.

I diggeg 30+ platinum yesterday but mining skill didnt move a little. It is still at the same point. (note: All green, near skill lvl up)

The issue with training/practicing has been reported multiple times and is being worked on. You can also find this issue listed in the bug tracker.

Hm, I've recently learned that your not the only one with this problem. Doesn't help much I know, but at least you're not alone. Seriously though, it's being looked into.
Same pb for me...green stat are stopped...and players labels disappeared

for me, it's mining and crystal way. Mining is not that bad, I also find some ore at level 5...but I wanted to reach level 20 in Crystal way, so that I can finally use a certain spell :(
I hope this gets fixed soon...without (tm)

I've been away for a little while and to come back and find I can't progress? [sword and armour for me]
Well that sucks, but till it gets sorted I'm enjoying a little exploring time.

well, that doesn't help you, but it's the same with me, i can't advance in crystal way, all other skills seem to be trainable, at least until now :-)

For me axe training definitely not working. Maybe other nor tried skills also affected.

Advancing skills thru practice has been a problem for one of my characters for a number of days who uses a pc (Windows XP). While the
character on my Mac has no problem. Sheloo (on the PC) eventually made a petiition for help. So Noxide came to her rescue and said
others had the same problem. He even arranged for Sheloo to go from 3.75 skill level in mining to 2.99 and got transported to a coal mine
instead of the pt mine. To no avail. Practically all the job skills are bugged. Only the sword skill seemed bugged now. I believe the knive
& daggers skill got fixed. Also melee (level 22) and axe (level 6) are to be working. For awhile all the ways were working until I went to Oja and trained up
in blue way and then Blue and Azure ways stopped getting practice points. Crystal way continue fine until I hit level 11 and it too stopped. But
Red, brown and dark continued to get practice points (but then they were below 11) I did train dark up to 15 and it continued to get practice
points. Oh, part way thru the situation I trained in Empathy and got practice points there.
So is it just a PC problem and not a Mac problem. Well I had developed another char on the PC and she had mining skills and fortunately had
some pps and money and so I had her buy a pick and train up to 3 plus. She went to the Øja Iron mine and dug iron and got practice points.
Noxide suggested going to Bugtracker. But after signing in with username and password, I can not figure out how to comment or even start
a new theme. Still can't. :-\

another thing if you go to trainer who can train that locked up skill and choose buy skill lvl it says you dont have enouth money to train the skill (also a way to see if that skill is locked up else it sais you cant train this skill anymore)

I have the same problem now. I have full theoretical training and mining skills at 3. I mined gold yesterday and when I found ore I gained progression points and practical points in mining. But today I gain only progression points. Enhancing in mining is frozen. I dont know about levelng up with other my sklls at the moment (NPCs are impevious).

Well the Mac player came back from training in BD. Went to mining and The frozen practice point bug hit! He also checked his brown way
and sure enough that was bugged too. :o

So is it just a PC problem and not a Mac problem. ] So no system is free of the practice bug.

This affects me too. Oddly, not all skills are affected. All magic, and metal working skills are frozen. Mining too, but I can still 'skill up' in sword. This is incredibly annoying, and is a game-killer. This really needs to be prioritised for a fix/workaround.

the devs are doing the best thay can from what i get in the bug tracker (just read it for the 5th time to be shur) the fix has been put on the test server and is wating to be accepted as stable so it wont mess up are server if thay put it on and remember planeshift is :beta: so be patient it is doing varry well for its stage in divelopment and there are going to be bugs like this at times but just try to enjoy the game and help with the development when posible okies?
