When I started playing this game I found the lack of map and compass rather frustrating. After playing a bit I still miss'em. I have learnt though that there in fact are maps to be bought. If only I can find my way back to ******* I will buy one!
Life would have been so much simpler if I knew about the maps right from the start. I suggest that a "buy map" quest will be given to you at the end of the tutorial. If nothing else it will give newcomers something to do from the very beginning. Implemented right it may also teach them a bit more about the game itself.

just so I don't get flooded with reports about this one, No, it does not violate this rule of the wish list posting guidelines. :)
* Do not propose ideas for specific items, monsters, quests, spells, etc.
-- Giving specific details such as "I want to see a Ghoul monster that will give 15PP and will drop a Haunted Cape!" is a sure way of never seeing anything like this in-game. The dev team aims for originality and surprise, so when you are proposing ideas that deal with certain types of monsters, items, etc., be general.

I think this is a good suggestion. It would give new players a very basic overview of the world and it would present the opportunity to explain why there will not be any minimaps.
And stop the forum spam too.

Just of curiousity, is the process of adding a quest explained somewhere? As an old(but rusty) programmer I'm somehwat interested in the details...
