Hi All,
I have been unable to get into the game for three days now. When I get to the logon screen, Fragnetics will have numbers flashing next to it (usually somewhere between 250 & 400). I will also see the word "failed" occasionally flicker in between the numbers, but it's usually only for a second or two. BTW, does anyone what those numbers mean?
I can log in & pick my character, but then within a few minutes in I'll get the message "Server is not responding, try again in 5 minutes. Check http://laanx.fragnetics.com for status." My computer doesn't get the chance to finish "loading world".
I've gone through all the forums & tried every suggestion offered with no luck. I have Windows XP Home. Has anyone been able to play the game in the past three days or am I one of the unfortunate few? If it isn't the server crashing, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your time,

might be an odd question, but what speed of internet do you have?
in my experience, I've only gotten those messages if there's too much of a lag between client-server. It might have to do with your speed, but I might be wrong.
Also, are you using a firewall, either hardware/software?

Ahem.... When I first saw this thread I thought about this (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/bunny)
But erm, first I'd like to know what is your net speed, and a really dumb question here, what is your game version?
Just figure the duh questions should be answered first, eh?

If you are running on a home wireless network setup, try utilizing a wired one, or move closer to the base station as you be getting dc'ed from all the dropped packets due to a flaky wireless connection.

I have a cable modem. Speedtest.net just measured the speed for downloading at 6692kb/s & uploading at 2028kb/s. A ping sent ~300 miles was 11ms.
I downloaded the game (for the first time) last week. It's 0.4.0.0 Steel Blue.
The computer is connected to a router via wire. The router is connected to the cable modem also via wire.
There's two software firewalls: Windows & McAfee. I've already given permission for Port 7777. (the two programs are probably a bit overkill, eh? :))
Could memory play a factor in this as well? I'm in the process of upgrading to 1GB, but right now I have a slug-slow setup of 256MB.
To Master Listbard: They say that's what sells, right? It must - it got you to read my message!
-
Memory shouldn't play such a factor really... Maybe in game lag... slightly...
But as far as I know it shouldn't make such an impact.
edit: Im kinda unsure on this... So I wouldn't rule it out.

256MB is not enough ram to run PlaneShift on, 512MB is probably the min, try again after you get the 1GB

Dude I can't go on either it says failed anyone else have that? Is the serv down or...?

The roflcopter just crashed into the lollercoaster. Better call the lmaobulance.
That was also the first thing that popped into my head when I read the topic title.
On a moar serious note, I get server fail messages constantly after 9pm australian GMT+10. Can't log in at all, and it was like that until I went to sleep at 1am.
I figured It would be better not to post a whole new topic about it, and my question is basically the same, anyone else experiencing this?
I play on dial up and windows xp with 1gb ram, the kinda computer that runs doom 3 well, PS runs perfect usually.

gees i'd never run 2 firewalls, not on the same system anyway, so turn off the windows one as it could be interfering with the other one and causing conflicts
