Title: unsual Visual C++ termination error...
Post by: Ashton on March 15, 2008, 09:47:02 pm
Crashes every time while loading the world. I created character, logged in, everything's fine untill about 2/3 of the way through the laoding screen (see image) If it matters, I do have 2 screens running (that's why you see a wiiiiiide image with MS Live MEssenger running on the far-right (and yes, I blocked out the contacts list, that's not a glitch))

Any suggestions? I've never seen this happen before with the PS client...

(OS: Windows XP SP2, 2.97ghz CPU, 1gb RAM, 2gb free HD space AFTER install, running on Windstream 700kbps DSL)

D'oh! I did leave out a lot of info. I ran a full system diagnostic and the results are below (please note it lists a bluethotoh audio device, but I have no such device, I only have the service running incase I need it) IF there is anything else I need to post please let me know and I will gladly post it.

(tried to post it all here but it said I exceeded the maximum length)

Uh-oh. S3 Savage, eh? S3 Savage cards are notoriously bad with PlaneShift. They have awful (if any at all) OpenGL support, so I'm afraid there isn't anything we can do in this situation.. Sorry! :/

Thats odd, it must not have shown my primary card (the S3 savage is my 2nd monitor and is the on-board "card") My main card is a ATI Radeon 9250 with, either 128 or 256mb of VRAM...

Is that the problem though - that I'm runnign both cards at once and it makes PS hiccup even though it's loading on the Radeon?

try updating your graphics card drivers and see if that helps any.

I've been getting this same error now. It was just fine before, nothing was changed or anything and this started happening. If you need to know, this computer has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT for the graphics card, but as I said before it ran just fine before, then just suddenly this error started popping up after nothing on the computer was changed.
