I am having a big problem with Planeshift. I read all the other threads and posts and stickies and nothing helped. I just downloaded Planeshift 4.0 Steel Blue. The installer and everything came up fine. Once it was installed, I tried to play. I logged in, everything was fine. I got to the part where I have to make my new character and it was all still good. I went to pick what type of character I wanted, and as soon as I clicked one type, it closed. My mac would give me the "The application psclient_static quit unexpectedly. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again. Nothing worked! This is very frustrating. I would really appreciate any help from anyone. Also feel free to PM me.
PLEASE HELP!

Will anyone please help? Does anyone have any useful information? If you do then please write it down.

Can you post your system specs? The more we know the better since there are specific issues with different OS versions / processors.
Is this the first time you download PS? Did you have any of the previous releases?
I'm not an expert but having this info might be of help in identifying what is causing the problem.

Hey Dajoji, I have a Mac G4, Vram-64mb, lots of ram and space on my hard drive. My Mac can definitely take on this game. It's not the specs, it's just a problem with Mac Planeshift. I downloaded Crystal Blue first and realized I had to download steel blue. I had to wait, but eventually I downloaded it. I dont know what to say. It starts fine, and when I go to click on what type of character I want, it crashes. What can I do?!?!

Hi Antonio.
I asked around and there are some issues with certain graphics cards so please post that info to see if that's causing you to crash. This is the fix you'll have to make if you got Ati X1600 (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30575.0). Also try running the updater, that should fix any damaged files you may have. It will look like it is not doing anything but it will fix whatever is needed. If you want to see what it is doing exactly you can run it through Terminal. Let's see how that goes. Good luck.

Well - just on the side, I thought the updater has no GUI and should not be run on the Mac version? ;)
-
There is no GUI so you won't be able to see what it is doing, but I was told it works. You can use the Terminal to follow up on what it does tho.

You will also see what it is doing if you open the console app, and run the updater by clicking on it as you would any other application. The way you can see it still runs it that the application icon stays in the dock after you have clicked on it.
