Hi, a friend told me about Planeshift and I want to try it out, but I think that my school is blocking the port that Planeshift uses. I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a possible way around my schools firewall so that I can connect to this game. I hate my school, because they block everything possible, I pay $25 grand a year, I would think that I could get a fully open internet connection to use at my discretion. I guess I'm wrong.

If you are the person paying the money then there should be some way to enforce some change with that kind of censorship.
Anyways, how did you realize that planeshift was blocked. If it was just a "failed" while trying to log in, then it is also quite possible, that the server was just offline.

No because the person that told me about the game, said that they were able to get on when I wasn't. Apparently my school isn't blocking the port because it is the same one that WoW uses, God forbid we block WoW. So I'm not sure what the problem is, since my school isn't blocking anything and I'm pretty sure that I'm not blocking anything. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I don't know if WoW uses TCP or UDP, but PlaneShift uses UDP on that port so keep that in mind.

Yeah, I sent the head guy at IT a message saying that UDP 7777 needs to be unblocked for this to work and he said that it is unblocked because of WoW. Of course he might be mistaken. Which is probably the case.
