So when I get in the game, I log in but then the windows disappears. I tried again but it always does the same. I searched for a logfile and this is what I've found:
1040) <src/common/paws/pawsimagedrawable.cpp:56 PreparePixmap>
1040) Could not open image: >/this/art/gui/border/topleft.png<
1040) <src/common/paws/pawsimagedrawable.cpp:56 PreparePixmap>
lots of error lines like this.
I did check my install for the folder art/gui/border and it's not there... why is this?
Anyone has the same thing as me?
I'm on Ubuntu 7.10 , Intel Dual Core x32

I believe that is a virtual directory, in one of the zip files in your skins folder. I get that as well, even when I make my own skin or try to modify the default one.

This is finally fixed in SVN if you wish to build the client you can get the fix and see no more annoying messages of this type.

thanks for the answer!
now how do I build it?
just download from the SVN site and then, treat it like a new install? or is it a patch?

Er guys, are you actually sure that is the reason why the games doesn't run? And if it is fixed in SVN, won't it be available through the updater eventually?
There should be more to check before a completely new user needs to build his own client..

those messages have nothing to do with keeping the client from running.
