Title: Books: Editable by anyone?
Post by: Velh Krome on March 28, 2008, 01:05:56 pm
Just wondering.. I recently noticed I could edit books I received from someone else some time ago. Needless to say that its content was authored by that other one.

My question now is: We had that nice feature that others couldn't edit other one's books - Is it gone now in 0.4 again or is there some sort of, no clue, hidden "checkbox" to un-/lock it?

There are two kind of books now. "Public books" are editable by anyone, where normal books can only be edited by their original author.

There are 2 books you can buy a "public book" that all can edit, and a "private book" that only you can edit. All books from the 0.3.19 release [i think] are "public", all books from 0.3.20 release are "private" and today you can pick between the two.

To me it appeared to be a bit random. Some of the old ones I could edit, others I couldnt (means, all books in question were from several other people, while tried to edit with the same char).

But whatever, to have 2 diff sorts of books seems to be a nice addition on first sight - lets hope all will go well  \\o//
