Title: Merchant needed
Post by: Illysia on April 13, 2008, 01:32:03 am
We need a merchant that buys food ingredients and FAST. I'm up to my ears in bread pieces and there is no way of destroying them and no way of selling them.

Have you tried putting them into one of the furnaces used for melting metal....the should turn to dust.

It takes a really long time to turn it into dust but it does work. I thought that it did do that any more for awhile there. :)

So make a shortcut /use 1 bread  and jones on it. Bread is still edible isn't it? Or is it a raw material similarly to the hops, dandelions and what not? Where does it come from? Have you discovered some baking secrets? Have you tried using the dough cutter on it? I am certain you have tried everything you can think of are any of my suggestions new?

We're still working out the kinks in cooking.... I'll pass this up the list as well. Thank you.

Hmm I haven't figured out anything about cooking yet, I got a lot of equipment though and some training. Would someone be so kind as to pm me who to talk to in game for instruction?

Hehe, since it's not possible now... you used to be able to sell bread pieces at the start, but you get so many that even if they sold for 1 tria each you would make a bundle. I think I started off with a new character and 30 trias, bought some bread and made about 10,000 tria out of them :P it took more than 10 minutes though, so it's not really so bad compared to mining. But it was still unrealistic, hence why the bread pieces were shifted to a unsellable category.

Then sell them for 0 tria. No profit but at least you can get rid of them.

No one buys them. that's what we were asking...even if we could sell for 0 tria... right now our only option is to take hours turning it to dust and selling that I guess..or dropping it on the ground..and I can see most everyone is taking option two.

I know Izzy, my remark was to the Devs because they disabled selling them to prevent profits being made. ;)

I'm just glad we can cook. I am amazed at how much has been implemented. My pleas for more food has been answered.  \\o// Once the selling part is worked out it will be much easier to use.

As for the Bread Pieces... Try to find something 'cooking-wise' to do with them... They're there for a reason.

We may be cruel and sadistic, but we don't usually put anything "dead-ended" in, unless it's going to be expanded very soon to be useful

There IS no use for bread pieces in game, at least not with the current baking trainer. The cook book hints on stuff you should be able to make, but with current trainable levels you can't.

I dispose of unwanted junk in Forges - these seem to process stuff at a faster rate than Furnaces do.

Why not just have the bread pieces or whatever sell for something really low like 1 tria.
It's kinda ridiculous that store owners like Brado or somthing (who would need and want a steady supply of food stock) to not buy food and not pay for it. Thus the profits not huge unless you spend threee billion hours making three billion pieces of bread...

They really need to implement the small change in the game like iron, steel, and copper coins which are worth less than 1 tria. In the mean time perhaps the players can start using these otherwise useless items in their place to show there really is a need for the sub-tria denominations, 100 bread pieces per tria or some such thing. An apple could be worth two. If the bread piece has the crafter's name on it that could be taken as the bank that issues the denomination and who ultimately will redeem it. The only problem with this is that stack limits might be too small.
