Title: NPC's give me the creeps....

I'm at kada el's kitchen and trying to buy a filleting knife from Jomed, but whatever I type, he doesn't get it

I'm having this problem very often, and I would like to know some general phrases with which you can make them sell you things or give you quest ( my major problem.... )
