Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty new here, but one thing I noticed when I googled "planeshift" was that www.planeshift.it comes up with a warning that this site may harm your computer.
I don't know how to attach the screen shot here, but here's link to the google search:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=planeshift (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=planeshift).
Notice how after the title it says: This site may harm your computer.
So my question is what is going on? Is this game some kind of a scam to install malicious software on people's computers?
I'm not visiting that site until that issue with the malicious software is resolved, but just wanted to throw it out there for the rest of the folks to have in mind.
Thanks

How many more threads do we need about that issue?
It is known, it is wrong, it happened before and happens again.
-
Wow, didn't know that google has still marked it as such. (or is it maybe again?)
-
I apologize if this is a dup, but can you guys post links to the other threads? I'm curious to see what the explanation is.
Thanks

During a little time (like today, maybe yesterday), at least 3 threads were created about that "revival" of a misunderstanding.
Unfortunately, people tend to believe Google without thinking further ... Berlusconi is not even close to that power.
I assume that searching for [Google malware] may result in a few threads.

Look in the forum affairs forum. The likely explanation is some loser with a grudge keeps reporting it. Maybe it is weinerboy who felt we should appreciate his tool more. Maybe it is someone who has been banned. It might even be a religious zealot.

If I read the threads correctly though, this is based on google automated virus scan tool. So if that's the case the tool must be finding something on the PS website.
Also I saw in the other threads comments like "Talad fixed this problem this morning". So that tells me there was something to fix. I couldn't find more info on what exactly the fix was though.
It'd be great if someone can clarify a little what exactly the problem seems to be.
Thanks

The problem seems to be that Google does not check the reports people make about low-profile websites. I do not know where you got the idea Google has an automated virus-checker. "Do no evil", indeed! They should not have taken the  lucre if that was their plan.

By 'fixed', I think it means Talad brought it to Google's attention (there is a link for that) and they removed it upon review.

Tuxide mentioned something about an issue with the javascript which googles sees as badware, though tuxide could not find any issue with the javascript when checking it (as of todays morning)
Maybe he could reply too, since he seems to know the issue somewhat better than we do.
PS: the only badware is internet exploiter :D
use a mozilla based browser instead ;)

Here's where I got this idea. http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=31253.msg358965#msg358965 bottom of first page.

Will have to get Talad to check into that again. If it is somebody that is doing that it makes me sad they would resort to that level. Google does have some tools there so will see what we can do about getting that fixed.
