On Saturday, May 10, 2008, Explorers Guild will be celebrating our 5th anniversary. The anniversary itself is on Sunday, but the celebration will be on Saturday. It will be a day long event and we invite all to join us in celebrating one of the oldest guilds in the land.
Planned are a treasure hunt, a Great First Level Race (from Ojaveda to the Eagle's Head), plus a surprise or two, and maybe even a few rounds of HAGS (hide and go seek...the old Explorers tradition).
And yes, in case this sounds familiar, we attempted a 4th anniversary celebration last year but server instability and an untimely update thwarted our efforts. But this year we are going to make it happen for sure. As the date approaches, we'll have a few more details so stay tuned here.

Ok, here is the general plan of events:
3PM ET / 19:00 GMT: Treasure Hunt (meet at Kada's)
5PM ET / 21:00 GMT: RP (meet at lake near Gugrontid on BD road)
8PM ET / 24:00 GMT: The Great Level One Race (meet at The Broken Door, Ojaveda)
This is very tentative...just a general idea of when things will get started.

Here are some more details on the race:
The Race will be from the gates of Ojaveda to the Bronze Door eagle's head. It's just a from-A-to-B race...no other rules (except no strafe running).
First Place: 25,000 tria (100 circles)
Second Place: 10,000 tria (40 circles)
Third Place: 5,000 tria (20 circles)
4th-10th Place: 2,500 tria (10 circles)
And yes, better leveled characters or better PCs will have an advantage, but if we try to even things out too much, it's going to get crazy (and take forever).
