Alright. This might be a computer-specific problem, but it just started today.
I was around the Bronze Doors and I noticed an area of the terrain was black. After a bit more exploring, most of the terrain became black, like this (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/canyon154/Picture1-5-1.png).
I'm using a Mac OS X version 10.4.11. The processor is a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo.
It's not much to work with... If you need anything else just let me know!

Heya and welcome to PlaneShift! :)
The back ground there is a common problem and will hopefully be fixed in the next release. Until then you can try this fix (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=29997.0) :)
Good luck!

Hey Airi, this happens to all MAC user's, my dad has a mac and plays. I seen that pic and his black spot is that same one and looks exactly like that, if its something major send me a e-mail and i will see what i can do ;) Always happy to help

I don't use a MAC and i have the same problem, could it just be an older graphics card thing maybe?
-
I dont know really much about older clients...i was only on PS for crystal blue. It could be that Van or maybe just a leak in the system. Try fullbright, Since your in my guild Van, get on the forums and i will tell you about fullbright, Airi you may do the same.

starting this release, this seems to be an issue for all or most people.

No; I get this problem sometimes, too, and my computer's fairly recent.

i actually have an odd thing with this yes on my newer comp with a geforce 7800gs it's the same black BUT on my old card gefoce3ti500 in another comp its as its should be :whistling:

That is kind of odd. I had this as well but I ran planeshift from the commandline with the -relight option and it fixed it. took a few hours though to finish.

You could also try relighting the specific map from the planeshift-setup utility. I am not certain that works but it used to.
