It's "The Netherlands", Socius. Holland is just a province within our grand country.

I must say..I love that word!

I am however not from Europe but I did get a wonderful opportunity to bounce over there over the new year and tour around some in Germany, Belgium, Berlin, and The Netherlands (Holland) [Love the fritters ;) oh and Proglin's cooking!]

and as proof here is a picture of my foot in European soil:

(yes I actually made my sister pull over as soon as we were out of the air port garage to stop so that I could take this picture..hmm too bad it's not with the cute European boots I bought while was I there...)

If I could I"d love to go back, I had a total blast...I kept getting made fun of because I called everything "small' and "little" Here everything is big and spread out and there things are small and scrunched together and its more laid back and slower  paced..and everything closes at like 5pm..its crazy what do you people do at night? we have lots of stores open 24 hours or at least till midnight...I was even getting made fun of one night on here because I was ordering pizza online  X-/

Its really quite amazing how diffrent things are...my sister (who is in the USAF and did two years previously in Germany at the other air base before her year in A-stan) says that a lot of Americans consider European waiters to be rude..and I have to admit had she not been there to explain this me..I might have complained as well..we walked into a restaurant and was seated and after a lengthy amount of time the waiter finally came over and greeted us and asked if wanted something to drink..then another ehhh 10-15 min passes by and he brings us our drinks..She explained to me that they don't try to rush you and most people go out to eat to talk and visit and relax...totally unheard of over here...its like you walk in and they hand you a drink, a meal and the check in 15 min or less. (okay thats a exaggeration :P but still) I could definitely get used to European dining..oh and the presentation of the food was magnificent! I felt like I was dining gourmet!
err anyways this was way longer than it was supposed to be...so yeah..shutting up now.  X-/

Yes there has been both done in polls before..but this is more specifically for the Europeans and such to post whereabouts they actually live in Europe if the so chose... hmm I think that means I should stop posting here...

I'm not from Europe and seems to present a bit of a problem for me since apparently most of my guild is. I'm rarely on at the same time as them. I dare say that most of PS players are European.

Ill add the second reason why im interested now.

Bit of background first.

When i was 18 (God such a long time ago), i was the RPGA (Role PLaying Gamers Association) Kent Regional Director, back in the days of good old TSR (The guys who stole dungeons and dragons from gary gygax the father of role playing)

This was a volunter position which involved me going around setting up local gaming groups, promoting role playing as a whole and assisting at Gencon (Europe), now i only did this for a year but it showed the value of encouraging local support for the hobby and genres involved.

Now this is only a pencil idea at the moment, but if there are enough people in my local area i would not be adverse to either :-

1. arrangeing a planeshift stool at one of the local european gamers conventions

2. arranging a planeshift convention in europe.

I have experiance in these matters considering promotion is my trade and have a small amount of event management that with back up from the community i belive we could arrange a dam good event.

However i need numbers and interest to make it happen

SO get posting and tell me where you live.

Im afraid its not some of the uk, its most of the uk, if they ran a referandom on it like the government said they would we would stayed out of the EU (For good or bad)

But i will amend the title never the less as i dont want to offend anyone.

*edit*

I belong to the german community. At least as much as I speak german, and visit #psde or psde.de sometimes. From my experience, finding other german players is not at all hard. Finding other european players neither. I would not be surprised about more than 30%.

Sometimes ... no, rather usually, it is not easy to place an appointment so that the result does not reach midnight.

nice thread..but I can't see results until I vote..and I don't live in Europe so I should not vote...

Hmm I dunno Rinenud...I mean to be honest..your guy's driving scares the death realm out of me! It would be very, very different but I did have a total blast visiting and would do it all again if I could ehhh who am I kidding..If I had the opportunity to get up and move to Europe...you bet I'd do it. But if I am ever over there again I'll be sure to stop by your house Rinenud and borrow a cup of sugar ;)

@ Ligh if its like a European Championship then there should be two British clubs in the final ;)

and as a UK citizen I'd much rather we'd concentrated on the Commonwealth than being conned into a European superstate

@ Mord:

I did not talk about Soccer... Maybe Olympics or alike. And if you had chosen Snooker -- but somehow, I don't mind watching that. Sometimes.

In game, I don't care much where one lives. Not while they share a bit time with me, then we all live in Yliakum.

Just to clarify, i dont want this thread to become political in any way - i know no one has, but for future readers reference, this is for research in to possible PS conference presence at a future date.
