Here is what I did:
Go to William Chorind
Right click on him and click "start personal banking icon"
(The banking window opens)
I want to deposit a circle, let's say. So I click on the circle symbol in the "desposit" section.
Nothing happens.
I click on any other coin symbols in any other areas: Nothing happens.
Searched forums. Found a thread: http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30821.0
Applied the mod referred in one of the threads linked to that thread.
Repeated whole thing again.
Nothing happens.
I'm frustrated. Need fifty individual tria because jayose doesn't think an Octa is equal to 50 Trias - the educated scoundrel is forcing me to give fifty individual coins of single Tria only.
Really frustrated, can someone help?

There is edit box above each icon (tria, octa, hexa,...). Click there and type amount of coins. Then use withdraw or deposit button.
Banking window appears that there are no active objects, but they exist. (I use Elf skin)
-
Unfortunately, the "default" skin is not the default skin... ;)
-
there is also a bug about the bank which don't let you deposit, but if you log off and in again the bug disappear.
-
There are numbers above each icon, which I clicked, and nothing happens. I know the click area is small, I tried clicking it a thousand times, nothing happnened.
Restarted client several times, nothing happened.
Is it a bug I should report? Or is it something wrong I'm doing? Or is it a usability issue?

There's not much reason to use the bank. Tria don't weigh anything as far as I can tell, and you can't store items in it. Just keep your money on yourself and you won't have to worry about a bug eating it all.

And what if you meet some robbers on your way?

Well now the reason for me wanting to bank has been asked, here it is: I lost 200k tria without any reason few days back. There was lag, I crashed out of the game, got "blue screen of death" in windows. Entire computer rebooted. Logged in again after restart, and 200k is mysteriously vanished from my inventory. My first thought was: "Has pickpocketing been implemented today morning?" The answer appeared to be NO according to a post on implemented/non-implemented skills. That's when I decided to use the banking feature.
I would like to say that banking shouldn't be as hard as it's made to be in PS.
How about using the traditional trading screen (that comes up when two players start trading) as using banking interface with npc? It's so much simpler and intuitive to use than the buggy interface we are forced to call "banking".
I shouldn't rant because it's a free game after all, but I do it anyway because I love it and feel connected to Planeshift.

What about bank robbers? (personally I'd take my chances against players vs. developers... at least in alpha).

I never heard of such a bug, please do report on our fine bugtracker ;)

You lost 200k? Really? I find that hard to believe. What exactly happened? A client crash (or server crash) can't make money disappear if it is in your inventory, really.

Ah, must've missed that report. Splendid.

Bank robbers...of course...why haven't I thought of that. So it is not a bug that you loose trias when using the bank but it is a feature which simulates a bank robbery. ;D

I've been collecting some money for my guild, and had 800k in my inventory that morning. I counted it besides Harnquist last where I used the furnaces to smelt the platinum. After smelting, I turned around, and there was a huge lag. Not something new, it happens like that each time for me at least. But this time it was much longer... no other window was responding either. I went out to check my mailbox, met a friend on the way, had a little chat with her, came back after 30 mins and the client was still unresponsive, though hard disk LED was blinking. Finally I saw the infamous BSOD and my macbook running windows xp via bootcamp decided to restart itself. After the restart, I logged in again, and found only 600k in my inventory.
I asked around if pickpocketing has been implemented, and the answer was no.
I quit playing from 1st June because of study pressure, so that lost money means nothing to me now. Maybe something for the developers to work on!
