(The Ynnwn, having traveled long and far walks through the gates of Hydlaa and grins as he enters the hustle and bustle of the city, so many people... So many possible Disciples!
He strides along to Hydlaa plaza and stands on the rim of the fountain, he smiles and looks out to the people. He speaks in a deep soothing voice that spreads into the crowd.)
Comrades! I am Manachi Edensaail. Heir to the Edensaail fortune, I beseech you all... listen!
(some people turn and begin to listen, whilst many others completely ignore him)
Comrades! I come from a lower level of Yliakum, I come bringing nought but my beliefs!
We must rise my friends! Fight off the shackles of an Oppressive government! Follow me and follow Boolrah!
(some people roll there eyes at yet another religious zealot and continue on, whilst others listen intently)
Comrades! The Octarchy are ruining our beautiful Yliakum! They spread the Lies of false gods and force all to fall under one government!
(A couple of Octarchal guards looks with suspicion on him as he speaks, slowly moving closer to the fountain. He seems not to care of their presence.)
Comrades! There is but one true god! He is Boolrah! The great falcon!!! He believes in the peoples rights!!! He will liberate us from a people who oppress us!
To my friends who follow the path of Dark Flame! I beseech you, join me in striving for a world without such persecutions for faith. Boolrah will bring love and harmony for all, not just his followers! Join me Comrades! Join the revolution against an oppressive facist Government who will continue to Oppress us all If not stopped! Join The Revolution! VIVA LE REVOLUTION!! DOWN WITH THE TIRED OLD GOVERNMENT!!!
(A large number of guards begin to move in on him but he flees, he goes into hiding.)

(A cloaked figure sneaks, unseen, from the sewers and enters the Tavern. He strides to the bar and removes his cloak it is Manachi, a preacher of the revolution. He orders a mug of Liquor and drinks slowly. A small dwarf child stands cheerily by the bar and talks happily with the adults. Manachi smiles and hands the young child a bowl of soup.)
Manachi: What is your name little comrade?
Dwarf: Valiki sir...
(Manachi smirks)
Manachi: Come with me little comrade

[The diaboli are from outside of Yliakum and that word has been passed down for generations of The edensaail family, Manachi's Home town is a very strongly revolutionist town. They all disbelieve in the Octarchs, and as a result are not exactly smiled on]

[I know that :P, but that was a LONG LONG LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG Time ago ;) I'm pretty sure that isn't happening anymore.
Also that doesn't explain why these Diaboli would have knowledge about yliakum and it's government.]

[Yinafae, all these characters that claim to be from outside Yliakum are violating the settings. That's impossible. If you claim that "refrigerator" was a mighty tool in your hometown and that that word has been kept in it for generations, it's still bad roleplay since it is an obvious OOC reference. By the way, since every strip of land in Yliakum is under control of some vigesimi, I doubt there are villages that refuse to follow the Octarchy. If they resisted, I don't think the Octarchy would hesitate to put an end to them.]

[On the other hand, the town could have a vigesemi that's working from the inside to put on a facade of cooperation with the system while plotting to bring the Octarchy down. Just sayin'.]

[In the sense it is being used claim just means 'to assert in the face of possible contradiction.' People can claim anything and being from outside the realm is likely to be one of the more common claims in Yliakum. It doesn't make it true but is isn't much different than someone claiming to be the illegitimate son of the octarch, born in the Death Realm, or the last surviving descendant of the first Klyros Talad suffered to live. There is an outside beyond the BDs and some NPCs actually go there, so claiming to be from there is not against the settings. Actually being from there is less conforming to the settings but only your hairdresser knows for sure.]

[I'm gonna go a little off-topic here but this is not the first time I've seen something like this happen so I'm gonna throw in my two trias...
Split the thread: one for IC entries only and another for OOC comments, or request that these be submitted via PM. This board is for players to share their RPs but it often steers into OOC discussions of what is good/bad RP or exists/does not according to the settings, and even though most of the time they start off with the good intention of helping the plot, they are an effective RP-killer and I think we can all agree that's not something want.
So, to the people behind the plot: be ready for criticism, even if you've done all the efforts to make sure your plot is within settings, and if you haven't yet, well, make sure it is. And for the people commenting on the plot, keep it constructive and try PMing and avoid posting OOC in this kind of thread, as stated by the board rules (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=21013.0):
(...)2. Keep your posts in the right threads. Do not post out-of-character posts in in-character threads (except in small bracketed [] footnotes/headers-these footnotes and headers should not be the majority of the post and should not be used to criticize or argue about other posts). Valiki lay in bed, the images of the mysterious man flashing in his mind. His mother was furious when she found out that this man had given him alcohol, and was told to use a sword against the government.
Valiki closed his eyes and curled into a ball. Why was the man lying? He seemed so nice... and what in the heck was a revolution? These thoughts swam through his head in chaos as he tried his best to fall asleep. He looked over to see his twin brother sleeping peacefully in the other bed. Valiki sighed and turned over. After a while he drifted into an uneasy sleep.

[You can't just "openly support" the Flame. You don't do that, no matter if you're a real follower or not. People who want to create roleplays about the Flame: Do the Dark Flame quests in-game first, all of them, and read all the books in the Dark Flame library!]

A_Traveller, you know I adore you and adore playing with you. And it's great that you want to make all these RP events for people to participate in.
However, the reason they keep failing, is you push a little too far, assume a little too much. If he were 'just a madman' saying these things, it would be fine. But saying that he comes from an entire village and history that feels this way, and you butt head with the official setting.
Likewise with the mercenaries... if it had been a group of say, ten or fifteen, who came looking for XXXX and XXXX, it would have been fine. But instead you had a whole 'army', killed a child publicly, and said you were from or supported by the government... thus upsetting many people.
Keep making RP events, by all means! Just drop the scale a little bit. Let things -build- to that point.]

[I take issue with the criticisms about "the dark flame." The suppressed religion is the Black Flame ... no? It would seem to me that the ideas spread in this thread would cause suspicion and intense scrutiny on the part of the authorities and perhaps fear and retribution on the part of the populace, it would also generate some confusion as to whether or not it was associated with the sect. The "dark flame" might even throw suspicion on the Dark Empire and smear things good!]
