Huh? What's this about?

The western EU should just not bother. The voting is so political it's a waste of time.

Russia won!! :D

It wasn’t just Bilan's voice, which helped Russia to the trophy. His show grabbed attention with its grandeur. A Stradivarius violin mastered by virtuoso Edvin Marton and Olympics figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko assisted Bilan's performance.
A well deserved victory!
Russia has been tearing up the competition - winning the IIHF 2008 World Hockey Championship by beating Canada in Canada, St. Petersburg's Zenit winning the UEFA 2008 Cup in football (soccer) by beating Glasgow Rangers in England, CSKA's victory in basketball in Russian Superleague, a chance to host 2014 Winter Olympics, and now winning the Eurovision 2008!
Most publications, including western press, admit that Russia has definitely deserved the Eurovision win and generally have good things to say about it. The only one who's bitter is UK's Terry Wogan, since UK's contestant limped in last, so that's to be expected. 8)

Nah, the Finnish heavy metal band were pretty good. Very Night Wishesque.
And that Spanish performance was horrible. That guy ought to be shot.

hmm.... may I vote for cancelling the Eurovision Song Contest as a whole? :)

If the 4 countries funding it (UK, France, Germany and Spain I believe) drop out in protest like Italy and Austria did then it'll be over.
