you mean aside from clicking on the planeshift icon on your desktop or in your start/programs menu ?

1) Did you download the game?
2) Did you correctly install the game? You should see PlaneShift listed in your start menu if you did.
3) Did you launch the client?
4) Does the server show as online?
5) Do you actually have an account yet? If not: http://www.planeshift.it/register.html
6) Did you create a character?

Where "Start menu" applies for Windows; but users of other OS may already know that a certain level of information is epected when crying for help.

Ah, he obviously got helped (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=32552). Now someone explain to him how annoying useless scrollers and highlights are.
