Title: Problem entering Hydlaa
Post by: ChrisWarFi on June 18, 2008, 05:54:46 pm
Hi guys. I have a problem entering the city. The char is a kran, and that area worked fine, then i was lead to hydlaa. Now when I try to enter the game we get all funny. The loading bar gets up about 5 boxes (more or less 25%), the display alternates (sometimes quickly, sometimes with a pause of a second or so) between the loading screen, and what appears to be a circle of rocks... It reminds me of the Hall of Mirror effects from games, just with a black screen and a piece of rock being rotated....
Anyway, to the specs, I know they're a little low but it runs ok (and a human character i created woke up fine after the tut....):
1.9?ghz proc, 512 ram, vista :(, 64 graphics (shared with the processor...), it could possibly be the (wifi) connection but still.... ermmm.... ran updater, downloaded the graphics thing from the vista thread, latest graphics drivers.... turned off sound (which was a bit choppy in the loading screen). Nothing helps :(

any ideas guys? - Chris

looks like your graphics card/chip is not up to the standards ps requires, a shared card/chip will never be as good as a stand alone card.

Of course, but on a laptop I think it'll be a bit hard to put one in.

Isn't it a bit strange that it -just- happens in Hydlaa?? Especially when it loaded with a human char (human char's spawn there, no?)

It could be map related.

Tried turning down the distance rendering effects through the in game options?
