Title: Giving items, etc
Post by: Voyager on June 24, 2008, 08:22:08 pm
For the last half hour or so, I've been trying to give Neave from the Tutotrail, her blacksmithing book.

As I use a mac, I can't simply right click. I tried ctrl+left click like it said, but this did not work. One of the in-game advisors told me how to change the settings in the option menu and I did this, but I'm afraid that even so, when I click the npc like this, all it does is select and not give me the options to 'give', etc. Please help.

Thank you.

You can target the NPC and enter /give in your communications window. This will open up a trade window. And check this link (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=31746.0) to fix the right click issue.

Thank you.

For some reason I can't open any xml file to change it, but I can still type in give and it works fine. Thanks for your help.

Ctrl+click should allow you to choose to open it with text editor to modify the file.

Also, for those using a Mac laptop with touchpad, excuse me, trackpad ::) check System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Trackpad. You may have the option to "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click" (if you have it set up so that tap = click), or "Place two fingers on trackpad and click button for secondary click" (if you don't). I like to only use the mouse when using the mouse and only use the keyboard when using the keyboard, so this solves that issue for me.
