Got my second look at the new update today, and found that when I walked in that tunnel, I couldnt see anything. It wasnt just dark, it was black. If I turn around, I can still see the other maps bright and clear, and I already have fullbright (at least I think I do, since I had it before the update and used the updater). Very hard to navigate those tunnels in the "forest", and the only way to know where you are is by the positioning of the other maps. Not sure if its just on my computer, or everyone has it.
I run windows xp.

There's a fixed map available via the updater :)
If it tells you that it's disabled open "updaterinfo.xml" in your ps directory and change the very first "false" in the very first line to "true".
Good luck!

alright. thanks! have yet to try it out ingame, but didnt know there were updates available

Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem. I've already run the updater, but it says no updates are needed. Yet when I enter the game to check, these areas are still inky blackness... :sweatdrop:
Help would be appreciated.
Edit: It's fixed.

I had this issue, I went to try what you said and there was no line with false or true in it. I fixed my problem by reinstalling planeshift, rather bothersome as now it seems to remind me that loading region fails (when i know for sure i havent walked near loads...). This can be lived with as I have another computer and am using planeshift on this one rather then the buggy one. *huffs*...

I also see a lot of black ground. At the moment I am standing on an inky black plat mine. Kind of makes it har to figure out where you have been digging.

Ah, great! After doning what you proposed there is no black corridor to magic shop... the game doesn't run at all. \\o//

Same problem here. Areas were too dark...fixed the updater...updated...now the game tells me "failled to load effects".
-
run the updater again and dont preload models in pssetup
-
updater tell me "no update needed!" and i didn't check "preload models" in setup.
Thanks anyway...
-
iIn case someone still needs it : you have to use the checkintegrity analysis on the updater then it should work fine.

I'm trying to travel from Hydlaa to the magic shop - just as I approach the fork, the game crashes.

I've managed to solve this one. It looks like our problem is shity distribution package. Download the file
http://www.xordan.com/updaterinfo.xml
Place to your folder and run updater agian. It doesn't help again. And so on. In the end it will work.
