Hi. When I run the Planeshift client (4.01) after successfully running the updater, the game starts. I login w/ my email and password. It takes me to the character creation screen. After I click New Character, it takes me to all the races and appearance customization options. There, the game crashes. The colors of everything on the monitor become inverted, the image quality is drastically lowered. Also, the screen image is magnified, and everything is bigger. I can't do a thing during all this, except hold the power button and wait for my computer to turn off. When i reboot, it says the system has recovered from a serious error.
Edit: My computer specifications are:

Your drivers are over 3 years out of date. Update them and you should see issues clear up.

I know this will sound stupid, but how do I update? I went to control panel--->system--->hardware--->Device manager-->my vid card. Then i used the hardware update wizard, but it couldn't find anything. I don't think updates are released for my vid card anymore.

I assumed you were running 32 bit WinXP:
