Title: armor repair working?
Post by: Xanthan on July 12, 2008, 02:15:14 am: I don't seem to be able to repair any kind of armor, even simple things like light leather gloves. Is armor repair working? If so, how to I start to gain the skill?

But there are plenty of other who would be willing to repair it cheaply, or for free. Timmothy is one of them. Don't think you have to do everything by yourself, there are other players there to help.

It just seems odd that if you start at level zero like me, then apparently you can't ever gain the armor repair skill at all. I am making the assumption that leather gloves would be easy enough to repair that you could at least try, even if it took a long time. If there's a simpler piece of armor out there, I can't imagine what it would be.

Post by: Prolix on July 12, 2008, 04:13:25 am: Armor repair seems to be slightly different than weapon repair. Weapon repair is based on the npc value of the weapon. While armor repair may well be somewhat based on value, I cannot say, while the lowest levels can repair one of the cheapest pieces of armor available, I suggest you try to learn the trade from the ground up. I do not wish to put my foot in my mouth but I think you should try to figure it out and maybe ask in game for details. If you still cannot repair anything it may be time to check the bug tracker or ask in #planeshift-build if it is bugged. Bilbous would be glad to tell you what he knows but chances are slim that you will see him.

You need Harnquist's lecture on the topic first. xD (in other words, buy the theoretical training before you start trying to practice)
