Hey anybody,
I was just looking around trying to find a free mmo and I ran across planeshift again. I started hanging around back during atomic blue, but I havent played since molecular blue, maybe early crystal blue, and I was wondering if any of the old players were still around. I used to be in ordo illuminatis or some similar spelling. Anyway, hi.

I've tried it but I fried my main laptop and the one that im using while that is being repaired can't run it very well. I was happy to see clover is still alive and well although I dont have my mugs anymore :(

But it's much appreciated! In two or three generations you won't have to correct them anymore, they'll have forgotten.

I still think it's for the best though it's a challenge to implement that without causing discontent either from the purists or those wanting to keep their old names).

Waylander, officially I'm using Phenan who's in Explorers, which doesn't do them any justice since I'm mostly inactive :-\ Miss the enki though, it's still the best species IMHO.

I have a feeling it'd quickly devolve into a popularity contest rather than what it should be, a commendation of people who've helped PS out a lot (community wise). And I'm betting it wouldn't take neko long to shut it down. I'm not inclined to start a thread like that. Of course, I suppose it could be "Top 10 PSers who are no longer around" or something so it would prevent that. So maybe. But I've probably made about 5 discussion threads in the 6 or so years I've been here. ;)

And though I agree it'd turn out to be a popularity contest there are just so many players that contributed so much who have been mostly forgotten... Like Bluecommand and contributing that bug that made people walk slow for about five months :P

I love Grono, but I still have no idea why she was made a mod in discussion areas of the forum. Her brand of moderating worked better like Aendar's did in the Guild forum. ;)
And yeah, I have to agree with the rest. Maybe rather than naming names it'd be better to give a little history about certain events/people. I command others to return and do this so I do not have to!

Nah, I remember hanging out with Clover still in the early CB. It's just that he never rejoined DE after its second coming (if I remember correctly only because he got recruited to OI soon before DE revival and Aelya had problems with getting the kitty back :\ )

I have a funny feeling it would be a tad hard to make something resemble an actual reunion for the old farts.
I mean, it's probably possible to gather people from about 2 years back, but for me reunion means meeting people like Seperot, Kwartz, Giladrial, Dagger, Kada or Nyxie. In other words, people that either no longer give a rat's ass about the Planeshift community, or that we've completely lost any contact with.
Although I'd fancy a meeting on a server with MB set up. Was fun the last time we did it, even if it reminded me how boring MB was :|

I kept talking to Golby, Keira, and Daireve for a while after we all stopped playing PS and the boards shut down, but I've fallen out of contact with them over the years. I last talked to Golby a year ago and he was finishing up school I believe. Maybe i'll try to message him again and see if he remembers me.
I miss washi too, but I doubt many besides the oldest of old remember him.

Just came back in game the other day after I guess nearly 2 years away (I did pop in in 0.3.19).
I must say that the game has inproved lots over the last few years, but the devs have left enough bugs in to make me feel right at home :oops:

Kada was deeply ingrained into PS and had many good friends here...no way she just disappeared like that to go to some silly space game. Even if she did get pissed off, there's plenty of us who were far removed from the "community" (see: the entirety of OI/The Tavern) that it would not affect.

I agree with Draklar, besides the obvious birthday mismatch and the US spelling, you can tell from their contents that these posts are definitely not hers.
Kada left Planeshift and the online community/life in general around March 2005 because of some important turns in her life, which out of respect for her privacy I won't detail. It was quite a difficult period and real life put a lot of pressure on her, leaving little to enjoy the usual tavern parties. Then life finally quieted down but time passed and made it more and more difficult for her to come back, especially after one very happy event that really made her turn the page - I don't think she would mind me telling that one - a lovely baby Kada :).
Back then it didn't sound right to write that in a forum so I passed her farewell and apologies for not coming back along to several people, but today I think it is just fair to let know anyone else who still wonders. There's only so much speculation we can allow, isn't there? ;)

It is so kind of you to update the people here about Kada. I did not have the pleasure to meet her, but the stories I have heard are just wonderful. If you still are in contact with her CadRipper do you think she would be interested in a Reunion of old PS'ers?
So now I ask if anyone is still in contact with anyone that used to play, can you please ask your friends if they would be interested in a Reunion? PM me if you can bring someone so I know if there is any interest in it.

1 : an act of reuniting : the state of being reunited

That is why it is a party for players that no longer play. It is called a Reunion for this reason.
Sangwa please feel free to have a 'party' for the current active players. That would be fun too.

I just thought it might be nice to see old friends that have left. Most people have friends that they miss. Also it might make a nice role play event that all players could be involved in. I do enjoy role playing. That is all. If you find the idea offensive or upsetting please let me know. If that is the case, then in advance I wish to apologize. It is not my intent.

That's but a taste of what you'd get with old-raving-bies like us meeting (and Neko is still pretty young). You would most likely be disappointed, or shocked at best. Besides, you would have to explain the download, login and tutorial procedures ;)

I also have returned. As if anyone can remember me, this is my first post since January 13th of 2005. I left because my computers motherboard was fried in my attempt to play this game on a windows 98. The pain finnally wore off.
Did my idea of using banks ever get implimented? I suggested it in a lock picking post.

Some old players and devs are still lurking, it seems, Clover. Some old names dropped here, like Kada, Daireve, Golbez, Gronomist, Aelya, Kixie, Kwartz were active back when I'd already been here a while and I wonder where they are now. Good to see CadRipper, Kiern, Moogie, Link, Draklar, Seperot and Zetsumei, too (and Zet's crystals). ;)
I also remember Atomic Blue, was here before that was released. Had some good times over at Kada's Tavern; I do miss that site (and her).
I also miss some fellow devs that moved on: Boonet, MatzeB, Artician, Washi, Kendaro, Paxx, ParaSite, Kahlisi, Firestorm, Avatar, Thekkur, Whitti, BinaryReject, Bigfoot, GeorgeD, Ellarion, Galendan, Icebolt, tangerine, StonedBones.
